Rifredi
Florence
|3.54km from city centerChoose another hotel. When we first arrived I had high hopes. The hotel looked nice and the rooms were clean Then it quickly went down hill. At night it felt like a furnace in the room, causing a horrible night sleep. I asked others in my group and they experienced the same thing. What we found out is that the front desk ( who are not very friendly) control each rooms temperature. The next night I talked to them and they begrudgingly said they would lower it. I additionally had to call and complain because the temperature did not change. The room does not have a lot of outlets and only on 1 side of the bed If you came with a tour, you do not eat breakfast on the main floor, you need to go to floor -1. It is a very dreary room with a very dreary breakfast. The food was not good. No fresh fruit, warm milk. Nothing appealing If it was located in City center MAYBE you would tolerate this, but you are not. You need to spend additional money on a taxi. Overall, I absolutely would not recommend. This is not a 4 star hotel in my opinion

Florence
|0.49km from city centerThe hotel is very centrally placed opposite the leather market of the Porcellino statue and just 200m from the Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. The hotel is really a B&B, set on the first floor of a 16th century building, full of character and original features, yet modernised sympathetically. The door from the street can be accessed via a code, and the reception is up four half flights of stairs as the ground floor ceiling height is high. There is no lift. The reception is an attractive and pleasant seating area, with free coffee (Italian style only). There is then a door through to the apartments which is locked in the evening. The hotel has nine rooms it seems, some of which, like ours, are small suites. We had a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and small walk in wardrobe. All the rooms were rather extravagantly decorated in pseudo historical style, ours with a four-poster bed. The seating in the sitting room was not excessively comfortable though – one good armchair and a rather uncomfortable bench-style settee. The bedrooms are arranged around a lounge area and a dining room which were used for breakfast, served on a table in the corridor. The choice of food was good – no cooked breakfast, but there were slices of omelette and cooked ham. There was a good range of bread and pastries, cereal, yoghurt etc. Coffee was made to order and decaff was available. Each day there was one person who came and made the breakfast and attended to check in etc, not the same person each day though they were all very helpful. On checkout there was a room where they could store bags, but access was limited to their working hours so you need to collect bags before 5pm. If you arrive after 5pm they can send video instructions so you can access the hotel and collect your room key. This worked fine for us, but you do need to warn them of any late arrival. Overall, it was a good place to stay, full of character, but limited in terms of not having evening reception, and by the lack of lift. Whilst there was no restaurant, there are three on the ground floor of the same building – a pizzeria, an osteria and an Irish bar, and of course a multitude in the surrounding streets. It wasn’t cheap, but then nowhere in Florence is, but was good for getting the feel of the city.

I mean during the check in the entire time, the staff ignored me the entire time, I understand he knows I was with my friends, but I have my reservation separately, he should handle it by the order, and not just assigned me the smallest room just because I was a single person.I booked the exactly same type of room just like my friends, and their room is twice bigger than mine. And I can only eat breakfast in bed because there was no room to put it. That’s hilarious actually.

Competent, courteous and friendly staff at reception and in the service (luggage and dining room), without being intrusive [5 Stars]
Delicious and plentiful morning buffet (incidentally; linen tablecloths and napkins) [5 Stars].

|3km from city centerFlorence is very familiar, so everything was as expected when choosing this hotel. There were no surprises, but it was definitely worth the money.
But one thing that is quite unexpected is that the hotel provides a shuttle service to and from the old town of Florence. Although we have a car of our own and cannot use it, this is very important for tourists who do not have a car.

The only advice concerns the private bathroom outside the Economy Housing room, it would be better to have a key for the bathroom door, so that it can be closed when you are not in the structure.

|0.28km from city center Liked · The room was HUGE .. literally you could play football in it! Grand room with very high ceilings .. felt like we were truly in a Palazzo with wonderful frescos in the ceiling The location of across the bridge from the Ponte Vecchio and I think I would prefer to have been on the more central part of town if I am honest. Disliked · Its actually too big .. to the point that heating or cooling takes at least an hour to get to the required temperature! The bathroom is small and the one major issue we had was the smell. Really bad gutter smell when we arrived and the rooms smell got progressively worse! Breakfast is a croissant and some fruit so very basic and one person seems to do everything .. front desk, room assistance, serving coffee and brekkie etc

|0.26km from city centerThis four room small lodging was perfect for our Florence visit. It’s located on the third level of a large building. You have to walk up one level to the elevator but the owner carries our bags up for us. Our room was sparkling clean and attractive with a tv and instant coffee and tea and a refrigerator. The shower is small but workable. They don’t serve breakfast but our rate includes a voucher for a local restaurant for 7€ each per day of stay. The location is perfect for walking to different places. The host recommended some great restaurants, too. We loved it.

|0.59km from city centerWe could not be more satisfied with our stay and without having any reference. The area was a success, 5 minutes from the train station and walking to all the emblematic places of the city, we did not take a single public transport. Arriving from a trip and having the card left directly to you to enter the room is priceless. The wonderful and punctual breakfast in the room was impossible to eat it all, I had never seen such a complete breakfast. We felt like we were at home. I will always recommend it and I will keep a beautiful memory of this accommodation in Florence.

|0.31km from city centerWe came to Florence after taking a 7-day river cruise, a perfect way to end our Europe holiday. The Santa Maria Novella is a great hotel that's close to everything. Easy walking distance to main attractions, 10+ good restaurants around the block alone. The room was spacious, great bathroom. Room service was excellent! This is somewhat of a rarity nowadays and we were very impressed. Tip: if you can, get a room that faces the piazza. Ours was interior-facing and our view was plumbing. The concierge was very helpful at all hours and the breakfast buffet is truly the best. I could have made that my main meal of the day! The train station is a convenient walk, and the bus too. Take the #7 up to Fiesole for a day. One of the best views in all of Italy!

|0.73km from city centerThe host was helpful and courteous - great location steps from the Duomo. A note that you are almost too close to the city center - if you want cheaper prices/more authentic food - be prepared to walk a bit. The room had a bit of street noise (again - location), but not bad! The room was spotless, spacious, nice bed/bath and other amenities.

Florence
|1.08km from city centerThe location and facilities of this apartment are actually okay. Florence has been there many times. Compared with the hotels near the core area, it takes about 15 minutes to walk. The price of 4 people is still OK. But here we need to focus on complaining about Ctrip. This apartment belongs to a company that operates many homestay apartments in Florence. It uses contactless check-in. Now it is very common at home and abroad. However, using this check-in method requires complete communication in advance. Some need to register relevant information online in advance, and the homestay will inform the check-in guidelines. After the booking confirmation of Trip.com, I did not receive any email or telephone communication until the day of check-in. After contacting Trip.com customer service, they said that they could not contact the relevant agent. Let me leave the email and say that the agent will contact me. The contact number given on Trip.com is also problematic. After waiting for two hours without audio, I finally found the agency company belonging to this homestay online. After contacting by phone, I sent me an email for online registration and relevant check-in guidelines, which was done in 10 minutes. The staff of the homestay company said that they sent a lot of emails and there was no response. I don't comment on what went wrong. But since it is a contactless check-in method, Trip.com does not communicate in advance, no guidance information, and finally no news after looking for customer service. It can be said that there is no action. If there is no relevant experience, it can be imagined that the result is that the local people can't get in, the local contact number is wrong, and the embarrassing situation that can't be solved by Ctrip customer service.

|2.12km from city centerWe had an excellent stay at the Villa Belvedere. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. I would particularly like to thank Babu Singh who seemed to be there at all times. Always smiling, always helpful and extremely polite. All the staff were excellent. The room was spacious with an outstanding view over the terrace, the pool and Florence in the distance. We could even see the dome of the Duomo. Everywhere was very clean and the room was serviced well every day. On small piece of advice rather than criticism is dining. The hotel breakfast is excellent although no English style breakfast is available you can have bacon and eggs. The selection of a more continental style breakfast is excellent. The hotel staff are most apologetic and insist that they do not run a restaurant but provide snacks. The menu however is comparable with many restaurants and the food excellent. It is sufficient for a light evening meal, is inexpensive and with a good selection of starters, mains and deserts available plus of course some excellent wines. We didn't take advantage of the snacks on offer during the day so I cannot comment. There is always a however....There are a few good restaurants within a mile. The 'Trattoria da Ruggero' is excellent. I would recommend booking through the hotel reception. It is also the nearest. The walk back from all of them except 'In Fabbrica' is up a very steep hill. We didn't go to the Fabbrica as it is not open every day so best check. There is a slight shortcut down some steep, awkward and unlit steps with no handrail. We climbed it several time except when it was very wet. A taxi back costs over 10 Euro. So unless you have a car or find walking difficult it could be expensive. It is also advisable to book as the restaurants get full seemingly every day. The Pizzeria Antica Porta near the roundabout at the bottom of the hill will do their utmost to fit you in, is very friendly, good value and the food is excellent. The bar is small but stocks pretty much any drink you are likely to want and is available most of the day. I would definitely stay there again but with prior knowledge of the dining limitations would plan the day differently. We ate a larger meal at lunchtime and in the hotel restaurant in the evening. Except one day when I think the chef was unexpectedly off. I didn't check with reception as instructed and was disappointed. Not the fault of the hotel staff.

Housekeeping was exceptional and the breakfast was fantastic! We have stayed in Florence numerous times, but this is where we will be staying all our future visits.

|0.61km from city centerThe hotel is on the edge of a square, and you can directly see the square from the breakfast room on the second floor. The location of the hotel is not bad. The disadvantage is that there is no obvious location sign at the entrance of the hotel. It is difficult to find if you go there for the first time. It is in a small alley and then into a small corridor. turn up.
The furnishings of the room are very simple, the TV seems to be a small monitor, the bed is relatively large, and the door of the cabinet is creaking, the overall is very simple or simple? For the sake of cheap prices, and these do not affect the housing, there are no other ideas. The room key is also very simple. An old western long key with a keyhole feels very insecure. The room is simply next to the front desk. Breakfast is relatively simple and there are not many varieties. I only eat eggs and croissants.
The overall feeling is that this is an ordinary B&B-level hotel with a local style. It is also an experience to experience the living conditions of the locals.

|0.72km from city centerAbsolutely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in Europe. The building has historic roots and one of the frescoes is visible. I was greeted by the wonderful Sebastian, who showed me to my gorgeous room overlooking the Piazza della Signoria. No noise, by the way. The windows are 100% soundproof. Everything was first class: the linens, toiletries, furnishings. The breakfast made you feel like royalty. So much choice and elegance. There is also a full bar and cold drinks for guests. I wish I could have stayed longer. It’s the kind of place that is special. Take note of the address. There is no sign, just the name on the metal buzzer plaque.

|0.8km from city centerIl Bargello is situated in an unbeatable location, close to everything in Florence. The service is very welcoming, and the rooms are in line with the price. The highlight is the abundant and varied breakfast, as well as the 24-hour coffee. The only downside is that we had a lot of luggage and there's no elevator, so we had to climb three long flights of stairs with all our belongings, but this seems to be a common issue in Italy. Interesting fact: in the room next door, there was a couple being very noisy while *********** all day, and it could be heard throughout the entire hotel, which was quite annoying.

|0.97km from city centerAesthetically done B&B with a very good location. Nice clean spacious room with a shared kitchen having complementary little breakfast. Check in was hassle free as the staff was available and he helped with luggage as there were no stairs for the second floor. Neighbourhood is quiet, and this property is located close to all the attractions, as Florence is a highly walkable city. Room had kettle, AC, heater, refrigerator and other basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. However would like to point out that room was made but towels were not changed, the same towels (partly wet) were folded and kept in the bathroom, which is highly unprofessional and unhygienic practice. Highly recommended for stay, due to location and nicely done up B&B.
