The quality of your food, drinks, accommodation and service were all exceptional! We will be back! Tips for other travellers: The Boat Inn for lunchtime or evening food - excellent quality and value for money. The walk down Rhu-Na-Haven Road to the path along the River Dee into Aboyne - a lovely way to get to The Boat Inn! Glen Tanar - for longer walks and a swim in ancient Scot’s Pine forests with lots of wildlife and beautiful views."

"We spent a couple of nights at Douneside and absolutely loved it. The staff are so helpful and friendly, giving us a great welcome. Our room was extremely comfortable with lovely touches such as real milk in a little fridge plus a complementary G&T in the room, and a dram of whiskey. The food was a real highlight too - the chef managed to deliver a tasting menu during Storm Amy when the electrics weren’t sure what they were doing! All credit to the entire team, they handled it with a smile and good humour. What a fantastic stay - we will definitely be back!"

We asked if we could swap to the twin room rather than the double bed after one night and it was no problems. The hotel is in a good location for activities such as cycling and hiking. Hotel is nice and clean, good breakfast."

"We had a wonderful family stay with Joyce and Gary and could not have asked for better hosts. Joyce, who we saw most, is the perfect host: warm, welcoming and genuinely keen for her guests to enjoy not only her beautiful B&B, but also the surrounding area.
She gave us so many excellent recommendations for walks, restaurants and places to visit, and we followed every one of them without ever being disappointed! She even went the extra mile by calling local businesses to make bookings for us, which was incredibly helpful.
The B&B itself is beautifully and tastefully decorated, and we particularly loved the daily afternoon teas, something we quickly came to look forward to! Breakfasts were generous, beautifully fresh and delicious.
The location is also ideal, with all the main sights and must-sees close by. Everything was just perfect, and honestly, I cannot think of a single suggestion for improvement.
We would very happily return and would wholeheartedly recommend Joyce’s B&B to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay and a genuinely special experience.

"Fantastic birthday lunch in the Conservatory. Wonderful menu laden with local produce, beautifully prepared and served. The atmosphere in the Conservatory was extremely comfortable and relaxed and, as a music lover, the playlist was just right, a great selection of well known classic hits played at a perfect volume. For this standard of food and service I think the cost was very reasonable and look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended!"
