La Rochelle Motel
9.5 (107 reviews)

La Rochelle Motel ★★

📍 1 Rue Grehan, Akaroa

"The motel is located a bit away from the main wharf and from all the main stores in town but still within walkable distance. The room was really clean and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. There's also an outdoor seating from our room which was nice for having breakfast."

Akaroa Village Inn
8.3 (90 reviews)

Akaroa Village Inn ★★★★

📍 81 Beach Road, Akaroa

"I had a lovely view looking out into the harbour with parking attached. Not all rooms have allocated parking which is a problem on busy days. The room was lovely and had a great feel to it. I did find that the WiFi was dreadful , my phone had better reception and as a result , the tv didn’t work. No cleaning service was provided for the 2 days I was with which was fine, the bathroom could do with some attention as paint is peeling and I do find it interesting that they ask us to reuse towels for the environment but then supply small sachets of shampoo and body gel rather than reusable containers. All in all a great location but not sure it is worth the price"

The Grand Hotel & Bar - Akaroa
7.4 (11 reviews)

The Grand Hotel & Bar - Akaroa ★★★

📍 6 Rue Lavaud, Akaroa

"We arrived to a very run down building. The entrance hall and reception/stairs were very drab and smelly. The smell of dried in booze and tatty carpets! We were so disappointed. Our room was ok. Well worn carpets but I have to say the beds, bedding and towels were superb! The room was very dated but had a fridge, kettle and a fan. There was a door onto the roof of the pub below where you could sit but it was very basic and overlooking the beer garden. The first night there was a good band playing so we decided to embrace the atmosphere and had a great night. The pub is good and seems popular. Sadly our second night the singers that were on were terrible so we went out. Being the quiet place Akaroa is it seems after 5pm there’s not a lot open so after finding food we headed back. If you want a lovely place to sit and relax unfortunately this is not the place to be. I have to say the pub was great and food quite decent but I wouldn’t recommend staying over. The staff were lovely too but the place needs a revamp. It was also the most expensive of our stays in a month long stay."

Akaroa Village Inn ★★★★
"The hotel is located next to the seaside cruise ship terminal. They are all independent motels with beautiful environment and complete facilities. There are restaurants within walking distance of the surrounding area. It is a 10-minute walk to the supermarket. The hotel's front desk is in the ice cream shop. You can have a taste while checking in."

"Pub open the latest. Received a warm welcome & was cared for immediately. Ordered off the bar snack menu (fried food variety); fried chicken & potato wedges were delicious. Charlie was a great bartender and helped us out before closing."
