We are DVC and bagged a room at the VGC in early August. First thing- the building and lobby and overall vibe are beautiful. The bell person who greeted us was outstanding, Sorry didn’t get his name but he’s 50s, slim guy, and extremely talkative and helpful, the true ‘Disney Difference’ type employee. Check in was a very slow and lengthy experience although the lady was very nice. Queues at 3pm. This could be speeded up. Room wasn’t obtained until just after 4. We had a disappointing outlook room, ground floor, corner, facing directly at back entrance to Californian Adventure. Security guards stood around and no real barrier for privacy so never sat on patio. However, we realised the room had some advantages in that you could be in the park in about 40 steps. Room was nice enough. Would I pay over $1000 a night for it cash? Not worth it but booked on points. They are getting so they need a refurb although still in decent shape. It was all very dark though, perhaps not helped by room position in bottom corner of hotel. Craftsman’s bar was a bit disappointing for food. It was OK quality but very, very slow at coming out. Mine was comped. The bar itself with live music is lovely though and cocktails good. Pool is beautiful but at the same time disappointing. It’s disappointing because there are not enough sun loungers. This is partly due to Disney greed, who have turned over about a third of the already too small pool area to paying cabanas. This is partly due to lack of management. They are meant to have wristbands on people, but half did not have them and half the time there were no staff on the gate to put them on. I personally witnessed at 8am a family coming in the front of the hotel who didn’t seem to be staying there (very easy to get in despite needing a key card as the gate is constantly opened onto the sidewalk) who I saw walk into the pool area, they had no card and waited for gate to open and went in. Disney can see from the reviews on Tripadvisor this pool seating issue is a major problem. They need to do something about it. If that includes removing the cabana area and taking a hit on upcharges, they need to do it. They need to get really strict on pool management and wrist bands. When you are paying this much for a hotel, not being able to get sun beds is totally unacceptable. Shame as pool itself is lovely and live music even in the day. The characters also seemed to plead daily at around 4 pm for a pool party. Gym great. The DVC team here here we’re very nice people. Obviously location is fantastic.

We recently stayed here for a five night stay, and I was very apprehensive after reading negative reviews. There were both positives and negatives- the positives include very kind and accommodating staff, clean and welcoming lobby, lovely pool area (not overly large but clean), easy walking distance to Disneyland Resort and the Anaheim Convention Center. The hotel does not have inside corridors, therefore if you want natural light in your room, you will expose your room to anyone walking by. They were doing renovations during our stay and very loud grinding/drilling noises occurred during the afternoons which made it impossible to rest (we understand that it happens and can’t be a quiet task but it did negatively impact our stay). Our hotel room was clean, however the king size bed only had sheets and one thin blanket. No dust ruffle on the two twin box springs and it looked very cheap. The bathroom was huge however the shower head made no sense. Water had no choice to spill everywhere because the head was so close to the wall, and it was not adjustable unless you wanted to use it as a hand held sprayer. Another negative was the elevator; it was a glass elevator that just trapped heat and felt like an oven. We stayed on the fifth floor and took the stairs rather than the elevator just because of how hot it was inside. The hotel does have a nice restaurant on property and there is a Starbucks across the street. Panera and McDonald’s are within a five minute walk. Overall the hotel was fine, it worked for what we needed and I’d consider staying there again if we were to return to the area.

If your going to Disneyland this hotel is perfect. Your just across from the entrance and closer than some official Disney hotels. It also has parking which I was really worried about. It was so close we could go back to the room for an hour at midday rest recharge phones and go back in. Will stay again if going to Disney. Only issue no hairdryer in the room and it can be a little noisy at night as people come back from the park.

We stayed here for 5 nights. The rooms are spacious and clean with the added bonus of a sofa bed. Free parking and breakfast. They had a free shuttle bus to bus but this was a mini bus so not very big, we missed the first bus on our first morning and when it returned we thought we could get on but it didn’t leave for another hour so we decided to walk. It’s around a 20 minute walk to Disney. We would go to the parks early and return around lunchtime to chill in the room and go swimming to cool off and then back to Disney in the evening. Breakfast was good, a choice of toast, cereals, freshly made waffles, fruit, microwaveable muffins, tea, coffee and orange juice. A couple of downsides there’s a petrol (gas) station next door and you could hear people locking their cars ( US cars beep their horn when locked) also you can hear and feel the fireworks from Disney we found this out on our second night!!

In fact, the hotel is still good. Our flight was delayed and we met the old Mexican legion. It was about four or five hours late. I called to the hotel to communicate and check in late. It was midnight at the hotel! Someone is waiting for us! The hotel is really noisy at the highway! That's right, because I don't want to close the window to sleep, so there has been a huge displacement of cars! !! But it's really like everyone said that the hotel has good breakfast with iced milk and donuts. I really love it. On the day I checked out, I was uncomfortable, so I asked my husband to go to the front desk to say that late check-out is also smooth, so basically It's okay, it's too noisy

Rollaway beds are provided for older children who can sleep alone. The hotel is conveniently located next to Disneyland. The downside is that the hotel is not fast enough to sleep on the highway. In addition the hotel voltage is insufficient to boil water.

We’ve stayed at this hotel for the last seven years, each time we go to Disneyland. It’s definitely cheaper than staying on the park’s property, and the walk is no more than 10 minutes. However, despite our family being loyal customers, we have stayed there for the last time, and won’t be returning. As I mentioned, yes, it’s cheaper to stay here than on Disneyland property, but don’t be fooled. It is by no means CHEAP, just CHEAPER. You are still paying quite a hefty price for what has, sadly, become a mediocre at best hotel. In all the years we’ve stayed here, the hotel, to my knowledge, has never been updated— and it shows. Unfortunately, the hotel is now on the shabby side. The rooms are small, as is the bathroom. Annoyingly, they no longer offer maid service each day, and have downgraded to once every third day. While I understand pandemic policies, we had JUST come from staying at the beautiful nearby Westin Anaheim, which does offer daily maid service. Next, a word on their air conditioning units. The last 2 times we’ve stayed, the units have been unbearably loud — so much so that at the height of summer, we opted to keep it off in order for us to be able to sleep. I asked to trade rooms, thinking we’d just gotten unlucky, but it seems each room has the identical problem. That goes back to the updates I feel the hotel needs to make. Lastly, unlike some of the other hotels nearby, there is no free continental breakfast. Look, Disneyland is expensive. A free breakfast would go a long way with guests. No need for it to be fancy— something small would suffice. As I mentioned, we also stayed at the Westin Anaheim this trip. It’s slightly more expensive, but it feels much more luxurious — and it’s nearly as quick to walk to the parks. That’ll be our choice from now on.

This is our second time at the Camelot, and it was just as great this time (8 yrs later). We booked the ADA Family Suite because we were traveling with my 79 year old mother. I also had my daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren. We booked with my husband's military discount but he had to back out of the trip. Michelle was great and was still able to get us a good rate. The suite was great. It was clean and spacious with two handicap accessible bathrooms, one with a tub, the other with a shower. The staff was so friendly, although they didn't clean rooms daily because of Covid, they checked on us daily and made sure we were stocked up on everything. The beds were so comfortable, which is vitally important when you've been walking all day in the park! One Stop Mobility (located on the bottom floor) was amazing and provided my mom with a nice scooter that made it possible for her to get to Disneyland easily. The laundry room (also on the bottom floor) was small (3 washers 3 dryers) but no one was there so it wasn't a problem. The pool was saltwater and not very warm but not freezing either, There is a hot tub also. I love the proximity of the hotel to Disneyland. It is very close which is so important when you have a bunch of tired kids who just want to get into a warm shower and sleep. There is also a 24 hr McDonalds right next door, and a Panera Bread right next to that for breakfast or late night snack.
