"The best hotel in Arambol! We booked it for three days, then returned again."

"A couple of days ago, we returned from a trip to Goa, to Arambol. We stayed at the Swati Hotel. I must say, my impressions were very mixed. This was my first time in India, or even Asia in general. Perhaps that's why I wasn't prepared for some of the nuances. The hotel is several four-story buildings forming a courtyard where the reception (a tent-like hut) is located. I have to give the guy at reception credit – he was always there, friendly, very pleasant, and checked if we had enough. You could always get a change of towels, water, soap, and toilet paper there. A special thank you to him and a 10 out of 10 rating. Next, the rooms… we got a room on the third floor overlooking the courtyard. The room has two beds (2 cm and one double), a wardrobe, two nightstands, an old refrigerator, and that's it! There are no chairs, no table, no kettle, and no hairdryer, even though it was mentioned in the description. The bathroom is a "shower," meaning the shower head is located near the toilet. When you shower, everything gets wet... the water was cold on our arrival, so we barely washed up. Later, it seemed okay. There's a small balcony with a table and two wicker chairs. You can only sit on one, and then sideways—you just can't reach the other. There's so little space. The biggest drawback for me is the very, very dark room. The windows are frosted glass, with dark blue curtains. The bedding is also dark blue, and there's a palm tree next to the balcony, blocking the sun. I didn't want to go back to the room; it felt like a cellar. But at least it wasn't damp. We had breakfast included. There's a separate menu for included breakfasts—four options. Although, if the breakfast listing says fruit salad, toast with butter and jam, or a fruit and milkshake, it might not include salad. They'll bring you two small pieces of bread with butter and a milkshake or juice (if you ask for juice instead). Juice might not be available either. And all of this takes at least 20 (!) minutes to prepare. For those who don't have breakfast included, there's a separate, extensive menu. So, if you're expecting to fill up on the included breakfast, don't get your hopes up. We constantly bought extras (fruit, yogurt, cookies), even though we ate very little. The location is good – close to the main shopping street, with lots of cafes and a juice center nearby. The road to the beach is a different story – it's not the beachfront, as many places advertise. It's a 5-7-minute walk, ***** a road that looks more like a trash can. And there are tons of beggars there. It's a real pleasure. What else... The room was never cleaned, and the bed linen was never changed during our 9 nights. Perhaps I should have asked, but I didn't. Oh, and there are no trash cans in the room. We collected trash in bags and carried it out to the stairs, where there was a trash can. And a huge, huge minus that's definitely worth considering: they burn trash in India! During our stay, there were two trash fires near the hotel at night—the stench and smoke were terrifying! There was nothing you could do—it was night, you couldn't leave, you had to breathe it in. In the morning, the entire balcony was covered in ash. And the noise was incredibly loud. It felt like everyone walking on the stairs and in the courtyard was in your room. Overall, the hotel wasn't the most pleasant experience. Perhaps this is specific to India, and for the price, you shouldn't have expected more... but all of this needs to be taken into account. I definitely wouldn't go there again."

"Very good location. There are several accommodation options in the facility, none of which are bad. There is a good restaurant on site, which offers many options for dishes from different cuisines, and, of course, Indian cuisine is beyond praise. Taxi and laundry services are available for an additional fee."

"My friend Isaac and I visited this hostel in mid-May, just as the rain started to come in. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly by Mayuri, the lovely receptionist. She is so gorgeous and kind, and was on hand to help with anything we needed throughout our 2 week stay. The owner is very friendly and has lots of recommendations, he is always happy to help in any way he can and is very chatty too! We met so many friends here, and I am so glad we chose this hostel as our first stop. The food is also amazing - definitely try the paneer roll! It feels like our home in Arambol now, and we are super excited to come back once the rain clears. It's a short walk to the beach, a great location right in the centre of town. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are cleaned everyday. Even with the rain, we all enjoyed chiling out together, playing chess and cards and sharing laughs. You feel so looked after here, please book and say hi to all the wonderful people who work here. We will miss them dearly! 💗"

"Clean rooms. Food was good. Since our stay was during off season, food was made to order which took some time but was worth the wait. Nice property in north goa where family and friends can stay."
