Location (lake front) and terrific staff made our experience first class. We spent Xmas and New Year at the hotel to 'get away from it all' and it proved a winner. Wiessee is an isolated spot with walking and 'chilling out' the only things to do. The hotel is popular with older Germans and watching them dance, sing and carouse at the New Year Gala Dinner was a treat. We liked the fact that we were the only Brits at the hotel. Most of the staff spoke good English. The hotel is also a spa with extensive amenities. Accessibility is not an issue with lifts to all floors. Travel tip. If you fly into Munich hire a car at the airport. A taxi to Wiessee is Euro 170 each way and the choice of hire cars at Weissee is not good (as could be expected in a rural area). The journey to the hotel is around 90 minutes.

My husband and I had a very relaxing and relaxed holiday. All staff were very friendly. The restaurant that Bianca Hunsdorfer was led with warm ”guide” was sensational. The food was a stick, lovely decorated and everything very good ( thank the cook for the three kilos too much now on the ribs). To service everyone always had an open ear and you were always happy to ask how the day was. That despite a huge event with I believe over 50 people over several days. It was always warm you felt very well. Thank you again for the beautiful stay that we can recommend at any time. Very love greetings to all and also the hair-dwelling men in the background!!!!! We enjoyed our stay in a studio unit. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was very good. It is in a small village with 4 ski areas nearby ( 30-50 min drive ). For summer activities, you have a lake in the village and a bigger one 30 min away. There seems to be lots of hiking and biking trails. For winter activities, you have cross country and downhill skiing, and sledding. The village is small which is great if you want a small cozy area. But you will need to drive to get to anything more than local stores ( although there are a few nice little coffee shops, restaurants and a few bars ). We enjoyed our stay and took many long walks around the village and onto the next village nextdoor. The only negative was lack of drawers in the unit for our clothes. We left everything in the suitcase on the floor. It worked but not comfortable. Rooms are getting remodeled. We got an old unit ( studio with no kitchen or kitchenet ) but saw a new one for a few minutes. The new ones are much nicer :)
