"This place is an absolute dump. The pictures on its SM are misleading. The room assigned was old and smelly and the "bathroom" consisted of a grubby old toilet and ancient, dirty shower with no hand basin except for some rusty old shared laundry sink. There was a tiny TV and the asking price was $295 per night which unfortunately was non refundable. There are nicer properties in the area for less. The owner was very rude even before we decided we didn't want to stay in that room and that it was totally overpriced. When asked how far was the beach she just replied "over there""

The hotel has a long history, but the rooms are very new, probably just renovated, and the accommodation is very cost-effective! In addition, the balcony with sea view made us, even those who stay in bed, get up early and sit on the balcony for a long time~"

"We had a great stay at BIG4 Wallaga Lake Holiday Park. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to Camel Rock and only a short drive to Narooma, making it a great value-for-money option. The late check-in process was seamless and hassle-free, which made arriving after hours very convenient. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. For the price, it was excellent value. One of the highlights was taking an early morning walk around the Camel Rock area. The scenery is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect way to start the day. We'd definitely stay here again when visiting the South Coast. :::"

"We messaged the hotel in advance about our late arrival, and they assured us it wouldn’t be a problem—just ring the bell at reception. When we arrived, there was no need to ring; we were met by a woman and an elderly man, presumably the owners. The hotel had already charged us before check-in, but for some reason, they insisted on seeing the same card again. They wanted to charge an extra $1 without explaining why. When the payment failed for some reason, the old man literally tossed the card back at us, muttering something in his thick, unintelligible Aussie accent. The woman tried to smooth things over, asked for a different card (which worked fine), and even asked if we wanted dinner. But the guy had already ruined the vibe; we immediately went into "defensive mode" rather than "vacation mode." The room was nothing special—forgettable and plain. We disliked it more than we liked it. To make matters worse, it was the most expensive stay on our entire road trip from Cairns to Melbourne. Interestingly, the know.travel description for this place hinted at the "unique" service style of the owners—now I see exactly what they were warning about. They’re clearly capitalizing on the lack of competition in the area. In the morning, we discovered a shared kitchen in pretty sad condition, which no one even bothered to mention when we checked in."

"We recently enjoyed a lovely stay here in a cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean and was well equipped for a self-contained stay. Bed very comfortable and linen of good quality. Excellent shower (love the excellent strong water flow!). Looked like the cottage had been painted inside and out in the last 12 months so looked fresher than the pictures on the website. The location is very quiet and a lovely view looking out over the lake. We also enjoyed dinner at the Bermagui Beach Hotel which was about 10 minute drive away. Fantastic peaceful location to enjoy some coastal walks around the area. Well worth a drive to Tilba and visit to the Tilba Dairy shop - fantastic local cheese."

"There is nothing elite about this place. We were greeted upon arrival by an outdoor table setting covered in rodent droppings. The apartment had a mildew smell that did not disappear even after airing the place continuously for days. The bedding is straight out of the 90s and is holding the majority of the smells. The stove was gas and the lighter they left had no gas. The dishwashing liquid was watered down and useless. We were in a downstairs apartment and our view was construction trash like a hoarders backyard. The only pros were that it was quiet, had a kitchen and hot water."
