"When I was asked which website I booked through at check-in, I was told, "We don't have a contract with that site, so that's strange." They then searched for my booking by name and confirmed it. Who they have contracts with is irrelevant to the customer; they should have been more polite. Furthermore, I was charged 500 yen (per night) for heating/cooling, which wasn't mentioned in the booking information. Even when I said I wasn't aware of such a charge, they insisted it was mandatory. After showing them the email confirmation screen to prove it wasn't there, they simply said, "Then it's not necessary." I felt the service was quite sloppy."

"The location is very convenient by car; parking is right outside. The owner is very hospitable. The onsen (hot spring) is a short walk from the hotel next door. Dinner was served in their living room as shabu-shabu. The overall room style is classic Western, but it was very clean and comfortable."

"I really liked the wild, free-spirited feel. The hot spring town isn't so much close as it is inside the hot spring town (lol). It's great that you can walk to your favorite hot spring even if you've been drinking. What's more, the quality of the spring water in this area is amazing! There are plenty of delicious local ingredients and products at supermarkets and roadside stations, so in a way you can enjoy a luxurious meal to your heart's content. This time we went in winter, so after the sauna we jumped into the deep snow behind the building! It was also great that tourist attractions like the Blue Pond and Shirahige Falls are so close by. Next time, I'd like to bring my pet with me in the summer."
