"I’ve just returned from a week at the Seehotel, which I booked as part of a TUI holiday package. I arrived on Saturday evening and was greeted by a young man on reception who gave me a room upgrade, a pass for free buses and discounts on a number of attractions, and got me booked in for dinner at the hotel that evening. I’m a solo traveler, but the room I was allocated was a double, with a balcony and had an absolutely stunning view of Lake Brienz. The room was a little dated and could get quite warm on a night, which is my only minor criticism of my experience there. Breakfast at the hotel is served from 7.30 and as you have breakfast, the staff will show you the menu for the evening meal, to make sure you are okay with it. On a couple of occasions, they were serving something I wasn’t fond of, but they had no problem at all changing the meal slightly for me or giving me an alternative. The evening meals are served from 18:30 and are always very nice. The hotel is in a stunning location, overlooking Lake Brienz. There are buses that stop near the hotel to take you into Interlaken, which you can catch for free with the pass the hotel gives you. I preferred to walk into Interlaken, which takes about 25 minutes. The Interlaken Ost train station is one of the first buildings you will see as you reach Interlaken, where I caught trains to Bern, Grindelwald, Zurich, Spiez and Thun. Overall, I felt this was a great place to stay, amazing location, friendly staff, lovely food and if you fancy a coffee or a sweet treat, you’ll find a little van up the road parked next to Lake Brienz called ‘Sweet Ride’. I would definitely stay here again."

"The single room only had a small window with no view, and no slippers! The mattress was a bit too soft, but otherwise, there wasn't anything particularly bad. The breakfast had a great view and was quite plentiful. It's a 10-minute bus ride to Interlaken station."

"The room was extremely hot due to the lack of air conditioning and getting a lot of sun. It didn't cool down much even at night. However, having a full set of kitchen utensils and the washing machine and dryer in the basement was really helpful. There aren't any staff on site, but I got a quick response when I messaged through the app, so I wasn't worried. The floor felt a bit dirty, so I think slippers are a must for Japanese guests."

"This hotel had a very Swiss feel to it! The building was a bit older, and honestly, I could hear footsteps, which was a bit bothersome. However, the hotel breakfast was absolutely delicious and the best part! Plus, having the bus stop right in front was super convenient."
