Iglika Hotel Borovets

Very clean and nice hotel with great location. It’s a few minutes from the slopes. We had a weekend in their villas and they are brand new with very cozy interior and they are very big in space . The food was great and also you have the chance to relax in the spa after long they on the slopes. I am Recommending it !

Returned to the Iglika after staying in 2016. Rooms have had a big makeover but unfortunately this was a disappointing stay. We would pay extra for another hotel next time. - Our room booked was a small double, (economy room) admittedly this was likely our own mistake for not checking this but the bed itself was a small double bed - no good if either of you are tall or if you like to sleep not touching each other! Asked twice if we could upgrade but were told we would need to speak to manager who wasn’t there at that time. - Kids seem to run around the bar and restaurant area and are ignored by staff even when they run into them! Parents need to do better - Cleaners left new towels and toilet roll everyday but the room didn’t look like it was cleaned at all and bedsheets weren’t changed once in a week. One day they left a wet rag in our room - No toilets in bar area - they are down one level and there are silver fish in the women’s WC in changing area - You have to buy drinks for dinner, even water - Pool area is nice but dangerously slippy - Wet rooms don’t work, after a shower following skiing the floor is slippy and wet all night as it doesn’t drain properly - Rooms very warm but ok if you turn off radiators - all of the food at the buffet was cold - common in Bulgaria but microwave would be nice to use. Eggs often undercooked and was worried about getting ill. Food seemed cheap to me - chicken on the bone etc - On check out, we had to wait whilst the cleaner was called to check our response was correct that we hadn’t used the mini bar. No issue with that, but an older couple in front of us did not receive this treatment. - on the positive side, food was varied and did taste nice, the dressing gown and slippers were a really nice touch. Bed was really comfy. Rooms are modern and cosy and the common areas lovely and warm

Do not stay at the hotel Iglika. The first issue occurred when my sons returned from the spa only in their bathrobes and were met by a cleaner in their room, despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign. The cleaner shouted at them in Bulgarian and demanded they either vacuum the room or give her 10 lev after pointing at my son’s money on the desk. My children are young, and this behavior is completely unacceptable. When we complained to management, they did nothing to address the situation, simply stating the cleaner said “they wanted to vacuum.” They won’t even hoover their rooms at home !! On another occasion, the cleaner entered my son’s room without knocking. To make matters worse, a pair of our boots were stolen from the ski storage. When we reported it we were told they had no cctv and no further action was taken. At checkout, the reception tried to charge us for items from the mini bar we never used, and I overheard multiple other guests being charged for items and services they didn’t buy. On a positive note, the rooms were modern and clean, although three of the lights in our room flickered throughout the entire week. The hotel itself was nice, and the spa and pool were pleasant. The bar staff were friendly, but the reception staff were rude and unhelpful. The food was average—nothing special or exciting. It wasn’t bad, but definitely not worth writing home about. Given all the issues we faced, I highly recommend paying a little extra and staying at the Rila Hotel instead. The service at Hotel Iglika was unprofessional, disrespectful, and downright unsafe, and I will never return.

I have just read some of fine negative reviews for the time we spent here over New Year - we had nothing but an amazing time at the Iglika Hotel - amazing food, amazing atmosphere and lovely warm welcome. The bar was fantastic for families and always something to do, chilled and happy. The rooms are hot but you have a thermostat to control which we just turned to 0 and it was perfect and great for drying off wet ski clothes. Yes the bathroom is a wet room But the water never bothered us and dried quickly. Rooms were serviced well and always clean - you have an option to ask for deeper cleans if required. All in all brilliant and amazing holiday - thank you Iglika

Our stay in Borovets was nothing short of amazing, thanks to this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. The facilities were top-notch, from the cozy and clean rooms to the well-maintained communal areas. The restaurant offered delicious, fresh and varied food every day. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Borovets—you won’t be disappointed!

We just left Iglika after a weeks stay. The hotel is fantastic, clean, cozy, and located in a great spot close to the ski slopes. Some previeous reviews complain about the food but we had no such problems. We found it to be varied and delicious. To us the staff was always smiling and welcoming. The bar is very lively at night with an amazing selection of non-traditional cocktails. We have stayed in other hotels in Borovets but this one is the best so far and definitely cannot be outshone in terms of interior and style. A wonderful place for a family vacation or a ski getaway with friends. Would definitely recommend and return.
