Premier Inn Caernarfon ★★★

📍 Victoria Dock, Balaclava Rd, Caernarfon

"We have just returned home after staying at the Inn for 3 nights. On arrival Jen and Carole gave us such a good welcome. Our rooms were large, clean and quiet considering the hotel was busy. Every time we went in or out there was a friendly greeting for us from Reception. Breakfast is served just yards away in the Pub overlooking the harbour where Nicola and staff make you feel so welcome. The breakfast was lovely, all freshly cooked and plenty of it. Nicola chatted to us like friends. It was a pleasure to stay there and we will certainly return."

📍 Stryd Pedwar a Chwech, Caernarfon

"Very good hotel well located close to the city center. Very rustic with welcoming staff and a very varied choice at breakfast. Clean and spacious room. Paar against the name of the hotel and the logo associated with it is controversial."

Travelodge Caernarfon ★★★

📍 Victoria Dock, Balaclava Rd, Caernarfon

"Had a lovely stay, room was great. The area around the desk was a little dark. The breakfast was not good, fine if you like your cornflakes with warm milk, personally I don't, and landed up flushing it down the toilet. For the price, milk should have been kept refrigerated until collected. Otherwise a lovely stay."

"I don’t know if this is the best afternoon tea in North Wales, but it is definitely the best afternoon tea I have had in North Wales, and I’ve had plenty! Everything about this tea was top quality from the loose leaf tea, indulgently filled tasty, soft sandwiches to the exquisite patisseries. Not to mention the scone with its homemade compote. The stand out item was the warm onion tart. Oh my. I loved it. Plus more fresh tea and a complimentary Prosecco!!! Plus charming, attentive service. This afternoon tea comes heavily recommended. And, if it’s a sunny afternoon, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings."

"Our host, Ruth, was very accommodating. We had a substantial breakfast each morning, which included Ruth’s delicious homemade marmalade. Our Ensuite room had plenty of space and we got a good night’s sleep under the cozy blankets during the unseasonably cold days. This location is convenient to Bangor, Caernarfon and all the sites. Highly recommended."

The Lake View Hotel Hotels in Caernarfon

The Lake View Hotel

"Lake View is THE most charming boutique hotel in the heart of Snowdownia. Amy and James run a cozy, small hotel that feels more like an extension of their home and hospitality than their business, which to an extent it is. Rooms are quirky and comfortable. The common areas are super comfortable and really make you feel at home. Their home cooked breakfast is quite wonderful accompanied my James' own recipe muesli ...what a way to start your day. They just cannot do too much to make your stay as glorious as possible with a wealth of local knowledge available. I cannot rate Lake View too highly"

"We had a super 3 night stay with Mark and Annette this week. We were on the top floor in a beautiful room overlooking the river and bridge in the heart of the village. It was spotlessly clean with loads of storage, the tea/coffee and biscuits were replenished each day and the bed was also made every day, which I’ve not experienced in a B&B for a short break. The breakfast options were plentiful and if you want a cooked breaky, the portions are incredibly generous with v good quality sausages and lovely thick slices of bacon served. There’s a lovely guest lounge available with an honesty box for snacks and soft drinks, which was very handy. Parking is available a few mins walk down the road. I would absolutely stay here again and thought Beddgelert was charming. 10/10 and a gold star"

Premier Inn Caernarfon ★★★
"Very warm welcome from the lovely Jenny, she's a real asset and is totally brilliant. All the other staff were also smiling, welcoming and efficient. The hotel location is excellent, a short(ish) level walk along the seafront to the centre, past an attractive marina where you can watch 'boat people' fiddle endlessly with their craft whilst never going out of the harbour (it seems). There are two car parks, one just across the road (Google Maps makes it clear) and one just a bit further away, which we chose because of the EV chargers, both take 'coins' (what they?) or Pay By Phone. Car parks can get busy, never saw them full, especially the further one. Room was very clean, everything worked including quiet and efficient air-con, but the room is looking its age and needs some refurb, such as re-grouting the bathroom and putting electric sockets both sides of the bed (!). Bed was comfy, windows open if you want that, curtains are effective at blocking the light (not a given in some hotels). The adjacent Table Table restaurant was good, breakfast buffet was fine, enough choice and an opportunity to overload the calorie count, staff were totally lovely and helpful, evening meal was good - and arrived with reasonable speed (I'm looking at your, Helston May Tree, last time there, 90 minutes from order to delivery). Overall, a really good hotel, I'd happily recommend it and stay there again if visiting the area"

The Black Boy Inn ★★★★
"The location is excellent, convenient for getting around, but there wasn't any parking as described. Public parking nearby is free from 5 pm to 9 am; you'll need to pay if you arrive early or leave late. The room is upstairs from the restaurant, so there was some slight noise, but overall it was acceptable. The shower water temperature and flow were fantastic, and the mattress was just the right firmness. The sheets were washed, but there were still some stains that might be difficult to remove."

Travelodge Caernarfon ★★★
"Hotel is where the marina is. So it is nice. It is also the opposite end to where the castle is. Fortunately, Caernarfon is not very big. It's a nice 10 min walk along the coastal castle wall. What's unfortunate is that our toilet smells of urine and that the hotel doesnt really have a drop off drive way. The hotel uses public carpark for guests, so imagine when it rains. Reception is 1 floor up. More like a cashier counter. All in all, stay was fine, just a little "piss" off with the smell in the bathroom."

Tyn Rhos Country House ★★★★★
"Ty'n Rhos Country House Hotel is a 5* boutique hotel of the highest order. Better than any other I have stayed in across Britain. Family run, with the owner very hands-on each day and her excellent design and creativity has made each room special. The staff, all hand-picked by her, are like a family and nothing is too much trouble (in fact the owner's by-word is just that). Five star service and facilities, but never presumptuous. Set in lovely countryside, with large grounds and gardens overlooking Menai Straits and Anglesey Island, it is peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. Breakfasts, Afternoon tea and dinner are all home made on site, and will fill you up. We stayed last year and came back again this year. We plan to come again next year (very unlike us to keep going back to the same place, but this is so special you will want to)."
