Hotel Ticozuma
"Ticozuma Hotel in Montezuma was a great find for me. Affordable and a comfortable stay. I find this hotel convenient, the bus to Montezuma town and the beach was a 10 minute bus ride. The bus to Cobano from the hotel was about 20 minutes. The bus to Santa Teresa and other areas, are all readily available. Please note that the bus only run every 3 hours and depending on the driver, it might come earlier or later than the scheduled time. But very handy. This hotel reminds me of a resort in Cuba. Not so big, but very comfortable. The staff are wonderful, keep in mind that the cleaning staff arrive by bus and leave by bus, so they might not be there 24 hrs. This place is basically you sign in, and you look after yourself if no one is around. This place is a great area if you want to detox your body, which is my purpose. The hotel gave me the solitude I needed, to complete my body detox of awakening. Yes, it can be noisy depending on the guests, but it's expected just like any other resort but the guests were all nice. You get to meet different people and cook lie a big family in the shared kitchen. Just remember to clean up after yourself and remove any food from the shared fridge before you leave. There is a fridge in your room for your privacy and use. There are two pools to relax in, a swim-up pool and a small one just for wading in. The hotel has a pathway where you can walk through if you want to relax and get closer to the jungle animals. You are awakened every morning to the sound of the jungle, from monkeys, to different colours of birds, roosters etc. The monkeys are non-invasive, and at times, you will see them hanging around the trees by the hotel, a great way to see them up close. The sunrise is a beautiful way to start your morning, sunset is not that visible from the hotel. The locals are great, the Playa Grande is a beautiful beach, a 1/2 walk from the town of Montezuma, along the jungle path where you can see some water falls. Fresh water meets the ocean water, it's cool. Thank you Ariel and the team for making my stay enjoyable at your hotel. I can't wait to comeback."
Fuego Lodge
"Best garden I’ve ever been. Friendly staff, very oriented service. It’s central located, delicious breakfast and good vibe. We’ve been with friends and it’s really nice to hang out on the pool and enjoy the nature that surround the Area. Thank you!!"
Believe Surf & Yoga Lodge Santa Teresa
"A fantastic stay from start to finish! We were here for 5 nights and had a wonderful time from arrival to checkout! The room was lovely, exactly as pictured and described, the location was perfect, and the staff were incredibly friendly and always available and helpful! We would definitely come back!"
Bohemia Experience
"Loved everything about my stay at Bohemia! Came solo for my birthday and it was peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful. The room was spotless every day with a gorgeous pool view. The manager Chakib was amazing he gave me great restaurants to visit, recommended an awesome horseback riding tour, and even helped me find a cash car rental after I lost my cards. Super responsive on WhatsApp too, answers within minutes. Highly recommend!"
Cabuya Lodge
"Stayed at the lodge for one week and had a beautiful, stress-free experience surrounded by nature, yoga, and adventure. The accommodations were what I’d call “bougie rustic” — comfortable and thoughtfully designed with AC, ceiling fans, open-air showers, and a kitchenette. Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle and waking up to monkeys playing in the trees was pure magic. The beautiful green-tiled pool blended perfectly with the natural surroundings and was always sparkling clean, as were all of the accommodations. The food was fresh, healthy, and absolutely fantastic. While I was not attending a formal retreat, I was fortunate enough to enjoy yoga classes and an incredible floating sound bath meditation experience during my stay, which made the trip even more special. Most of all, the owners, Kristen & Donavan are truly delightful — kind, genuine, and beautiful people who create such a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway or hoping to attend an amazing yoga retreat, this is the perfect place to regroup, refresh, reconnect with nature, and recharge your soul."
Point Break Santa Teresa
"I think your experience will vary depending on which room you have. We had a roadside room which was very noisy. Room itself was clean, shower great, pillows and mattress ok. Hotel is in good location for beach with a few restaurants and a supermarket close by."
Selva Resort
Lua Villas
"Our stay at lua villas: the villas are beautifully located a very short walk to playa hermosa beach through a short walk through the jungle. This is ideal for surfers! There were howler monkeys literally in the tree to our villa when we arrived which was great to see. (They did wake us up early due to their howling but this is to be expected as you are in the rain forest!) The villas are situated in a small gated and secluded complex with the communal pool in the middle. Our stay felt very private and safe as the rich foliage and plants make viewing other villas difficult which adds to privacy. The pictures on the website are accurate. The villas themselves are equipped with a small kitchen, large living area bed, toilet and outside living area with a large lounging area and a table. You need a 4x4 car or at least to rent an ATV when you get to the villas as they are not located in the town of Santa Teresa but a 10/15min drive further up the coast on a very very bad road. This was not an issue for us as we had a car but might be an issue for some. There is very little besides a pizza restaurant and a corner shop within walking distance of the villas. Another issue we found is that they do not offer a 24 hour reception. Reception can only be contacted in working hours which may cause concern if you had an emergency as the place is very remote and didn’t seem very professional. Lastly, there are exercises classes that take place most mornings at 8:30 am seemed to be open to the public. This means that around that time the communal area is filled with what seemed like locals using the studio space and playing exercise music for an hour. This did take away some of the privacy, peacefulness and charm of the villas and left us disappointed. We were up early at the beach most days but if you did want a lie in you might be woken up by the public class, music and instructors."
Manala Hotel
"Nice, large cabin with comfortable bed, AC, decent sized fridge, good bathroom facilities, good beach towels. Nice pool as well with girl birding from the pool deck. Good gallo pinto breakfast as well. The place needs some upgrading. Having beach chairs provided was great but they really needed to be replaced. The door to the toilet would not stay shut. The location was really good, right across the street from a beach access. El Facon restaurant next door was excellent. The supermarket and the best soda in Sta.Teresa were a few minutes walk away. We would not go back to Santa Teresa. The beach is marvellous but the town is dusty, crowded with tourists, and chaotic. This place seems to be for self-concerned flat-bellied 20-somethings."

Pacifica Surf Studios
"Love the place, you can go with friends after the sunset enjoy some beers and drinks if you want. Staff is quite friendly and the vibe is relaxed. I would love to have a dj set here since the vibe would be perfect for this type of bar, its quite amazing"
Canaima Chill House
"The chill house was just okay. Had I taken time to research more I would have stayed in a different place on the beach side that provide more in terms of amenities, services and ambiance. The Chillhouse location is not ideal. It is located next to a dusty and noisy road during both day and night. I struggled with breathing the entire time I was there. ATVs and vehicles are constantly struggling to climb the hill so expect tons of dust during your stay during the dry season. I can only imagine the frustration one would experience climbing the hill during the rainy season. You have to have an ATV or 4x4 vehicle to climb the hill…be sure to reserve one before you arrive due to the limited supply in Santa Teresa. There were ants on the cabinets constantly. The place is okay but a bit old and needs a refresh. The neighbors were loud after 2 am. I reported them and received an apology message the next morning from the staff. However, the issue was never addressed with the noisy neighbor. Ask during check in about the cleaning service as the cleaning lady only cleaned our room when we were in the room."
Villas Solar
Hotel Tropico Latino
"We were all on a yoga retreat from South Carolina. We were treated like queens. The location on the ocean was exquisite in addition to the customer service, professionalism, our accommodations at Hotel Tropico was outstanding!! We totally enjoyed our meals/juices/cocktails at the Shambala restaurant !! Highly recommend!!"
Blue Mist Hotel & Beach Club
"I had such a great week at Blue Mist! The villas are clean and beautiful. The staff is very attentive and you immediately feel like family here! I was traveling solo so this was very important. It’s located perfectly between Santa Teresa and playa hermosa! I preferred watching sunsets on beautiful playa hermosa! Breakfast every morning with smoothies and fresh juices was a great way to start the day! I highly recommend Blue Mist and can’t wait to return! "
