"Quiet and cosy place. Rooms very traditional. Breakfast is acceptable. Jogging machine at the gym strangely facing a opaque wall. Not really a convenient place, unless you are driving. The first night we checked in, the receptionist said there was no double bed (deluxe king room we booked and prepaid) and gave us twin beds. Then the solo traveller who checked in after us got a deluxe king room. Apalling. All other staff are friendly and cheerful."

"Staff superb. Disabled room excellent. If possible get keys to unlock the 4 disabled parking spaces adjacent to the disabled rooms, other than that a great stay."

"The hotel and room were clean and well presented. It loses points for having no air conditioning (a fan was provided to move hot air around) it needs more than just a fan in the heatwaves we will continue to get more regularly now. The staff were stretched too thin as well. The receptionist also had to clear tables in the dining area at breakfast which meant they weren't available to answer the phone or help us check out. This may have been an unforeseen shortage, rather than a policy. I hope so. Top tip. If you use the phone on the desk to call a taxi, make a note of the number to call to get you back again. I forgot and paid considerably more for the return journey in a black cab."
