"The hotel location is great in Dobrota, very easy access to a few of the restaurants on the bay front and around a 40 minute walk into Kotor Old town, or a 5/10 minute taxi. The hotel was lovely with a great pool area and access to a private beach bar. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - 10/10. My only gripe was the service at the beach bar, it was very hit and miss depending on who served you. One day we waited over 30 minutes for two bottled beers and a bottle of water. They have tables with a 'call for service' button, but none of the staff seem to take any notice of it and a few of the staff were very reluctant to take an order from you if you asked to order whilst they were walking past (not all of them - some were great!). They seemed to prefer the day guests vs. those who were staying at the hotel."

"A real gem of a hotel, situated right on the water's edge where you can eat your delicious breakfast in the morning overlooking the beautiful bay of Kotor. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and we had a breathtaking view of the bay with a backdrop of the majestic mountains. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for a fabulous holiday. A pleasant 20 minute walk along the promenade to reach the old historical town of Kotor. Highly recommend this hotel."

"This guesthouse is a bit far from the old town, about a 20-minute walk. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the bus station, requiring you to climb three flights of stairs. We had to drag our three suitcases up the ramp, leaving us breathless. The one-bedroom apartment is small and very compact, but it has everything you need. From the murals on the walls, the decorations on the coffee table, and the clean tableware, you can tell the host is a person with a refined taste and attention to detail (although we never met in person, we communicated online for check-in and check-out). The bathroom is very small, the sink is tiny, and the biggest drawback is the poor drainage in the shower. The next day, after showering, we found water had flooded the room, which took a long time to clean up – a bit embarrassing. Also, the air conditioning in the living room doesn't reach the room, making it slightly cold. Fortunately, the room is well soundproofed, the surroundings are quiet, and we rested well. There was Wi-Fi, and the tableware was complete. Overall, we were satisfied with our two-night stay!"

"The room was pleasant, with a beautiful view from the balcony. The shower was awkward to use, with no shelf for toiletries. Breakfast was standard European fare: boiled eggs, cheese, sausage, vegetables, delicious melon and watermelon, and so on. The hotel was fairly close to the beach."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at the Hotel Alkima. Our room on the top floor was large with a fabulous view out over the bay and surrounding mountains. We didn't have a balcony but soon got used to this slight disappointment. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The powerful bathroom shower was hugely welcome during the heatwave we experienced, as was the air conditioning. Everything was spotlessly clean. The breakfast every morning was superb, with a wide range on offer, including hot food. Free hot drinks are available throughout the day. We didn't make use of the pool or gardens as we were out every day touring Montenegro but we could see that they were very inviting if you chose not to go out. The gardens come with cute kittens and roaming tortoises! The location of the hotel is great, with free parking on the main road (beware of fast moving traffic) but there is a pleasant and quieter walk into historic Kotor (30 minutes) along the waterside. There are a handful of good restaurants nearby and a vast number on offer if you want to walk into the town. The Hotel Kotor is a very good hotel but the best thing we decided was the staff. They are all, without exception, lovely. Chatty and keen to help, but not intrusive. Any request was immediately dealt with, such as our request for an additional chair and small table in our room. We were sorry to have to say goodbye at the end of our week. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay at the Hotel Alkima."
