"It was lovely, the room was spacious, location is 10/20 minutes from most beaches. Service was lovely and limited to the mornings until early afternoon. The grounds have some charm but nothing special. It's very quiet which we liked. If you are going to be using it only for sleeping and driving around all the time it's perfect. Improvements could be done on the breakfast which we found a bit average."

"I scored this hotel 3stars only because I couldn't give 2:1/2. My wife & I arrived 26th Sept at 13:10 only to be told "Your room isn't ready.....come back in an hour" No apology or "have a drink on us while you're waiting. The smiling, welcoming receptionist who other guests encountered must have been on holiday!!! The room we were finally allocated (110) was not on their photo gallery, it was small, no desk & looked onto the bars' roof. No phone ,no tea/coffee making facilities, Not a great start for a hotel, advertised as 4star Although the hotel is a nice building, spotlessly clean & in a lovely location there are only a couple of Bars & Restaurants in the nearby village square. Unless you wish to lie around the pools all day, don't visit Porto Colom. As for the hotels' food, not a great choice, and despite previous guests reporting hot meals as lukewarm in April, nothing seems to have been done to resolve this problem by September. Again not 4star. Daily room service was excellent with fresh towels when requested. Very disappointed with the Vistamar & will not be returning or recommending it to anyone looking to holiday here!!!"

"This hotel sucks! We payed 10.000 Danish Kroner for this! We booked a sea view room, you know what we got? A room that didn't have windows, but had a balcony.... THAT FACED THE ROAD. They said it was free housekeeping and towels. Which ended up cossting us 5 Euros each! The pool was dirty and never cleaned. They don't even have AC. Which costs 15 Euros a day! Not at all like the pictures. They don't have check-in, which is in the other hotel. No breakfast and no dinner. And the room was very dirty! When we entered there was a pair of underwear on the floor in the bathroom. How bad can this get! And a really bad and unsafe bus will pick you up to go to the airport. Not at all like the pictures! I don't get how this has a 3.5 rating. So MAD I used my summer break on this BS!"

"I got a renovated room, very nice, keep in mind that the toilet has a transparent glass door. The floor was dirty, I asked to wash it, but they only swept it, and it remained dirty. After contacting the reception, the floor was washed, but the next day they only swept it again. There was no blanket in the room, I felt cold at night, I could not sleep, I went down to the reception for a blanket, they said that there were no blankets, but after my sad eyes, the employee gave me his blanket. There are no bathrobes, shampoos and hair conditioners in the rooms, nowhere to hang towels. The hotel has animation, quite strange. But the hotel is ideally located, next to a beautiful beach, where people come from all over the city to swim. The staff is friendly, the people are nice. I arrived after the HM hotel and it was much better in aesthetics and cleanliness. The breakfasts were not varied, quite sad. I do not want to return to this hotel"

"I had a fantastic relaxing holiday in Js Cape Colom Hotel when I stayed there for 10 nights at the beginning of May. The location was somewhere that I had never been to before but it was in a lovely quiet area and there was a stunning cove beach less than 10 minutes walk away. The local transport services were easily accessible so I was not restricted in visiting other areas round about. The Hotel itself is spotless and my room was cleaned every day. The food was buffet style with hot meals served at a separate area with plenty of dishes to cater for all tastes. All the staff throughout were pleasant and helpful wherever they were working in the Hotel and are a credit to their employers. The weather was a bit disappointing but unfortunately, as wonderful as the staff were, they couldn’t help with this . I would definitely recommend Js Cape Hotel to anyone who just wants to go for a flip and flop holiday to get away from everyday stresses for a while."

"Just returned after a fabulose break at js portcolme from first meet at reception with Paula and Marie so helpful smiling funny we had an upgrade was amazing apartment very clean cleaned most days fresh towels everyday pool spa well looked after we had half board would recommend never went Hungary staff we met were lovely only exception man on door off restaurant in night not approachable very abrupt embarrassed us by demanding payment and not adding to my bill then didn't pay off our bill so had to go through what happened again wouldn't even look at us no apology shower in our room flooded each time we dealt with used shower room once checked out this also flooded girl on reception at time not bothered didn't help in saying that we would return easy to get around beach harbour buses all at hand bars restaurants within walking distance big shout out to Paula and Marie fabulose xx"

"Just there for food, not staying in the hotel - started off well, good food - a wee hiccup with the order but we didn’t mind that at all as that’s easily done. Following delivery of our main course we became invisible - no drinks, no service, zero manners from the staff. We sat with empty main course plates for 45 minutes, unable to get further drinks or a dessert. When we finally got someone she was incredibly rude and STILL did not bring dessert menus. She was obviously just keen to tidy up and go home. We gave up, paid and left as she laughed with her colleagues. I would never recommend this place to anyone based on the service alone. Everywhere else in Portocolom was incredibly welcoming as well as having great food. This was our experience- you might have a better one with nicer servers, the food was good so this was really disappointing and put a downer on our evening."
