"We stayed here the first week of September and before arriving I read the reviews and was worried that I’d made a bad choice, but I didn’t. The hotel was lovely! The pool area has one of the best views ever, it just relaxes you instantly. It’s a quiet hotel but just what you want for a relaxing holiday. The staff are friendly, the hotel is clean and the buffet style restaurant has so many food options available it’s difficult not to be to find something to eat. Yes the planes go over the hotel as you’re so close to the airport but we quite liked that. We stayed in a sea view room and it’s worth it. If you befriend a local taxi driver they will take you on a day tour of the island for a price, this is worth doing, we had a wonderful day trip all over and saw some amazing places. We would go back both to the hotel and Madeira, it’s such a lovely stunning little island and well worth a visit and the hotel is a little gem in Santa Cruz. "

"Used as an overnight stop before a flight as the hotel is so near the airport and yet it's right onto a stony beach in a charming small town. It has parking in a large basement car park at 7 euros for 24 hours. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable and clean . Many have a view over the big swimming pools to the sea. Food is all buffet style but it's plentiful and varied. It was extremely busy owing to the airport closing due to high winds . The hotel was looking after lots of people being bussed in because their flight was delayed massively. I would have preferred a quieter dining room. The hotel has been really helpful with an item we left behind , truly magnificent receptionists. They make such a difference."
