The rooms are clean, the food is delicious, and the front desk staff are especially helpful. Even though my family doesn't speak Icelandic or English, we were able to stay here without any problems."

"I had the pleasure of staying by myself in a Lava Junior Suite at the Retreat Hotel. There’s absolutely a reason this hotel is the most expensive I’ve ever stayed at; it rivaled my favorite, Raffles Singapore. The exclusivity and access to the private Blue Lagoon was exactly what I hoped for. The room itself was beyond luxurious — so much so, I bought a blanket they had on the bed! I had a 30 minute relaxing in-water massage (which is perhaps the only thing I wouldn’t repeat because it felt a little exposed with others simultaneously receiving treatments.) I thoroughly enjoyed the BL+ Resurfacing and Sculpting Facial and the recommended products afterward did not feel overly-salesy. The tasting menu at Moss Restaurant was exceptional. Above all, the staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and taken care of. I would definitely return again, if I could afford to do so!"
