Hotel Balea
9.0 (68 reviews)

Hotel Balea ★★★

📍 106 Rue Adrien Lahourcade, Guethary

"The hotel is well located with parking, a 10-minute walk from the beaches. There's no kettle or coffee machine in the room, but they are available in the dining room for a fee. The soundproofing between rooms is very poor; you can mostly hear the people upstairs."

Hotel Erromardie Plage by Odalys ★★★

📍 Chem. d'Erromardie, Saint-Jean-de-Luz

"This is a nice flat site which had reasonable shade and most pitches spacious with hedge. Beach literally across the road. Good facilities with toilet paper, hot water and excellent wi-fi coverage. Water taps were hard to find and sprayed all over the place. Small on-site shop with bread in morning, a restaurant/bar, swimming pool and children's playing area. Did not try the restaurant/bar. Bus stop to St Jean within 10-15 mins walk of site ... get advice from reception re. location and timetable... short trip into town. It is possible to walk to St Jean over a pretty good path -- takes about 30-35 mins and has a slopely start but not very demanding. Not all staff have good English but always try to help. There are two fairly attractive pubs / restaurants just outside the site. At times late night music, laughing and shouting --- may not wake one up but might make it hard to get to sleep."

Hôtel INDARRA & Spa - Piscine ★★★★

📍 1 Rte de Saint-Pée, Arbonne

"This is an exceptional boutique hotel. Recently opened, relaxing and superb customer service. The evening menu is quite small and largely cold. In time I believe they hope to extend the menu so it is suitable for young families, which will be great."

Hotel Balea ★★★
"A very pleasant hotel with a truly warm atmosphere, thanks in part to the staff. The room was very nice. Although located near a fairly busy road, it's remarkably quiet. The patio-like feel (it was a former schoolyard) doesn't quite replace the sea view, but overall it's quite exceptional for the area."

Adonis Hotel Bayonne ★★★
"An old, basic, slightly worn hotel in the middle of an industrial area. Parking is free, but you should definitely bring your own breakfast (kettle and cappuccino), and I wouldn't stay there for more than one overnight stop. The rooms are clean and quiet, though, and our bed was comfortable; the bathroom was fine. In short: If I'm only staying one or two nights during a trip, it's perfectly adequate, but not for more than that! The picture shows the view of the river from the window—cleverly photographed."

Hotel Erromardie Plage by Odalys ★★★
"Very noisy cramped campsite - definitely not worth the money. The toilet/ shower block was filthy and very smelly - they say they clean daily but with the number of people they should be cleaning several times a day. Staff friendly but not helpful- got the impression they really couldn’t be bothered ."

"It was wonderful, peaceful and just what we were looking for. It was close enough to get Ubers to the city but it was far away enough to feel like we were in our own little fairytale. The girls at reception mainly Marion were wonderful and so helpful and kind. The hotel was dog friendly which we loved and the spa and facilities were gorgeous and peaceful. We got coffee, tea and water included in our stay which we thought was a lovely touch. Thank you so much for making our stay memorable. Bisous 💕"
