This hotel is amazing. Far exceeded my expectations. Finally I know what Platinum Diamond Hotel is called. Catering: Jinsha Restaurant is a Michelin-starred restaurant, offering all-you-can-eat golden-breasted pork (pictured below), Jinsha Chicken, Bamboo Soup, and Braised Abalone Pork. Even during the Chinese New Year, we couldn’t even get in line. Fortunately, the hotel gave priority to guests; we were given hawthorn cakes and nine-bend red plums while we were waiting. Breakfast is a buffet with noodles, braised pork, yogurt platter, hot orange juice, and a variety of exquisite snacks. Room: The bathroom is spacious and bright. There is a pack of dried chrysanthemums for bathing next to the bathtub. Shampoo and shower gel are all top brands. As a gift in the room, there is Gongyan Pu'er, which Emperor Qianlong drank. Service: Because it was off-season, the hotel gave children a free breakfast, upgraded the room type, and gave the children a special bear room card. The hotel has an entertainment program for children every half an hour on average. The room is cleaned twice a day, and new fruits are provided each time, which are the best in season. There will also be a night service every day and small cakes will be delivered. We are a family of 3 adults. The room size and beds ( 1 queen & 1 single) were perfect for our needs. It wasn’t a roll away bed, it was a proper single bed for the extra pax. And beddings were comfy and great. Room size was good… spacious enough to still provide a 2-seater sofa, and a single armchair. Coffee making, kettle of good quality. Bathroom shower was good, vanity top very good and even a spacious area for a bath tub. It was cold outside at 2 - 5 degrees, but it was warm and good inside. Breakfast was good and tasty. Coffee was good. We had dinner at their in-house restaurant, and good was great! Front desk staff was warm and very friendly, and provided much assistance to us in hiring taxis, and showing us how to get around. It made our day as getting around was super easy with the directions given by one of the senior female staff ( which unfortunately I did not manage to get her name). She was patient and super helpful. And housekeeping lady was equally warm and friendly. We had a lovely time here. We chose this location because it was only 15 minutes to Xixi Wetlands , which we wanted to visit and attend the night show : Jin Xi Gong Xixi. It was a beautiful performance, not to be missed. But they are closed for winter now. To get to West Lake, there is a Metro 450 m away and will take you pretty fast there.

This hotel was overall an amazing experience! The staff were so helpful and welcoming right from check in. The room was a great size, we got the two bed size. The room did not smell bad, and there were plenty of amenities offered for whatever we needed. A really nice touch was that there was real tea offered and a real tea set to serve it with, which is very fitting considering the name of the hotel! Breakfast was great each morning and was very yummy with a good selection. And the location - it is super accessible and puts you right in the middle of the west lake area, with endless things to do. Overall an awesome experience!

The staff are very helpful, friendly and super-courteous. Booking and check-in were easy. The room was an attic with small windows on the third floor, fine for one but probably too cramped for more. It has a small adjacent shower room with pedestal toilet and basin. It was quite hot in the afternoon in late October but the aircon was great. A cleaner replaces the ”eco-friendly” disposable towels (compostable? in plastic? I don't know), water bottles, etc. and empties bins daily, so it is well serviced. There is a little shopping neighbourhood further to the northwest (keep walking to the end of the little Boulevarde and keep going through the plaza with the dancer statue), handy for basics and dining. This minsu has a lovely little cafe downstairs. There is also a washing machine. The bed was firm and very comfortable. If you are more than about 1.65m in height the attic room may be uncomfortable. The minsu is on the road leading to the 灵隐寺庙 complex, which is about a five hour mountain walk and well worth exploring --- just not on the weekend when it is SO crowded.
