Wilderness Hotel Inari & Igloos ★★★

"The room is not big, and because of the shape, you have to bend down in some places, but the view of the hotel is so beautiful. The lake should be very beautiful in summer. The buffet dinner and breakfast are also very rich. It is the best place to stay in this trip. The best dining in Finnish hotels"

Northern Lights Village Saariselkä ★★★★

"This was our first trip to Finland and our first time staying in a glass igloo, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The only inconvenience was that we couldn't drive directly to our room; all cars had to be parked in a central lot. If you have a lot of luggage, be prepared for a bit of a trek as you'll have to pull it all the way to your room. If you have too much luggage and your room is far, the front desk does offer sleds to help you push it along. 😂 But it's understandable, as there are many people walking around the property, and with all the glass igloos, cars driving around would definitely compromise privacy and create light pollution. Our room type didn't look very big, but it actually had a separate sofa area for relaxing, and there was plenty of space on both sides of the bed. We were able to open up three large suitcases with room to spare. Most importantly, there were many power outlets in the room, which was incredibly convenient. The food provided was also quite good, with very fresh vegetables. We had satisfying dinners and breakfasts, and there were many choices for tea, coffee, and desserts. For those who enjoy alcohol, you can purchase it at the bar at your own expense. The overall service was excellent. The hotel offers many activities for an additional cost, so you can easily fill your days and then rest up to chase the Northern Lights at night. The hotel also provides a free Aurora borealis notification app (which usually costs money) that was very accurate. Basically, as soon as we received a notification, we could get ready and see the Northern Lights. Whether striking various poses in our room or walking around the hotel grounds, we saw beautiful auroras. This trip to Finland, staying in the glass igloo, truly made our dreams come true and completed our journey."

"Great really, Marmara formula at the top, cozy and very comfortable hotel in the middle of nowhere. Nothing to complain about really, go for it! Varied and quality food, pleasant and smiling staff. And the view of the lake is awesome! Passionate and dynamic facilitators.... Mélisse.... Willly.. and Valou!"

Aurora Village Ivalo ★★★★

"Lapland itself is beautiful and we would return, but we would not stay at this property again. POSITIVES: OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES – Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing were excellent and the activity staff were great. FOOD (CHRISTMAS WEEK BUFFET ONLY) – Generally decent overall. Buffet is only selected nights. REINDEER SLEDDING – Available, but underwhelming compared to other activities. NEGATIVES: SERVICE – Very poor. Most hotel and restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful. LUGGAGE TRANSFER – Guests must carry their own luggage through snow and ice to cabins up to a 10-minute walk from reception, often in the dark given the limited sunlight at certain times of the year and no lights nor a map. ACCOMMODATION SIZE – Cabins are extremely small with very low door frames (not suitable if you’re tall). - we stayed in one of the smaller ones being 2 people only. Can’t speak for the other ones. LACK OF AMENITIES – No TV, no slippers, no minibar, and aircon temperature settings cannot be adjusted without staff entering the room. No phone in room to call reception unless you use your mobile. No room service. No room make up unless requested early in the day. Another thing to remember. DINING OPTIONS – Mostly fixed set menus with no alternatives unless you are vegan. If you have an allergy you will go hungry. VALUE FOR MONEY – Poor. It’s easy to book and your activities and food are included in the price but we expected better service for the AUD $2,000 per night odd cost and it fell well short. OVERALL: Lapland is incredible, but there are far better accommodation options offering better comfort, service, and value."

"I didn't take a photo of the room, but it was the same as the picture, or even worse than the picture. It was the oldest room type, and it was very far from the front desk. It was the farthest room, and it was very inconvenient to get in and out. The hotel has only two floors of accommodation rooms, but there is no elevator. The sauna room is on the negative floor. I suggest you don't choose the oldest and cheapest room type, but a slightly newer and more expensive one. Although 1000+ is not cheap, it still shows that the prices of local resorts are high. If you want to see the aurora, I suggest you spend a little more money to stay in the glass house, there will be surprises in the middle of the night!"

"The environment was great, the room was average, but the sauna and washrooms were good. The breakfast was good and served in a cozy setting; the paintings, for example, were superb. A minor drawback was the inability to use Finnish."

"beautiful place to stay at. was amazing being able to see the northern lights from the comfort of a warm bed. stayed half board, breakfast and dinner were buffet style. breakfast was mid, dinner was great (not a lot of variety but each dish was done well). activities were available to do during the day as well, we had a great time husky sledding. a little expensive but that’s just the price of things in finland xD"

"The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the bus station and outdoor activity center. The room is warm and the hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel has a free sauna and gym. The room is a bit old and the bathroom is a bit trendy, but it is within the acceptable range. ,great"

"The location is very secluded, which allowed us to see the Northern Lights every night. This was unlike the other hotels in Lapland where we stayed, which were too close to city lights. The grounds are beautifully decorated with lights. The breakfast is varied and delicious. I really enjoyed it."

"If you stay in an economy class room, it's really far from the front desk to your room. I didn't know how to turn on the heater in the room, so it was cold... The breakfast buffet had a wide variety and was delicious! The bus stop was right in front of the hotel, and it was also about a 10-minute walk to the supermarket, so it was very convenient!"
