Hotel Okunakayama Kogen
9.1 (3 reviews)

Hotel Okunakayama Kogen ★★★

📍 Nishitako-662-1 Okunakayama, Ichinohe

"Two nights and four meals were provided, and we happened to arrive during a heavy snowfall. The sky occasionally cleared, revealing blue skies, white clouds, and snow – it was beautiful. The hotel is connected to the ski resort, so if you're planning to ski, the slopes have high, medium, and low difficulty levels. The snow was very powdery, and the prices weren't expensive. The annex has a wonderful hot spring; soaking in it left my skin feeling smooth and supple – highly recommended!"

GRIDS PREMIUM HOTEL MORIOKA(Newly open on 2026 May 1st) ★★★★

📍 3-6 Moriokaekimae-Kitadori, Morioka

"A nice hotel. The breakfast buffet is superb. The bath facilities are excellent. Clean and modern room. Comfortable bed. A bit disappointed with what parking information is provided on the listing here. It mentioned "private parking", but you basically have to use the adjacent public parking facilities at a cost of ¥1300 per night. You pay at the hotel, and they give you a receipt ticket to use along with your parking ticket when exiting the parking area. Only after looking at more reviews later did I see some guest mention this fee. This issue may be more about what Trip.com is able to display on a listing rather than anything specific with the hotel. Also, while at reception when checking in, the front desk agent was explaining some details in Japanese. I understood most of it, but when I mentioned that I didn't understand the last thing she said, the agent next to her appeared to snicker. He was staring at his screen, so it could have been something on his screen that he laughed about, but the timing seemed a bit to precise."

Hotel Okunakayama Kogen ★★★
"I was planning to go skiing at Ao Zhong Shan, and after checking out, I found out there was a hotel upstairs from the ski resort service center. The price was quite reasonable, so I booked it. I was surprised to find a room with two meals at the resort for just over HK$800 during peak season in early February. For the price, it was absolutely perfect. The room was spacious, with a view of the slopes, a private toilet and bathroom, and the hotel even had a hot spring bath. I was very satisfied! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The food quality at the room with two meals was also excellent. They didn't offer subpar food just because the room rate was affordable. The Ao Zhong Shan milk in the morning was absolutely delicious!"

Crowne Plaza - ANA RESORT APPI KOGEN ★★★★
"Appi Kogen is a beautiful resort area with a peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain scenery. The location is convenient for accessing the ski slopes, and there’s a surprisingly good variety of food options nearby. From traditional Japanese meals to Western-style cafés and hotel buffets, you’ll find plenty to enjoy after a day on the slopes. It’s a great spot for both outdoor activities and relaxing in comfort."

Appi Kogen Mori No Hotel ★★★
"A very cute cabin in the woods, about 3-5 minutes drive from the ski resort. If you drive, I recommend this hotel. It may not be very convenient if you don't have a car. The hotel has 2 private hot springs that can be reserved, so you can go there when no one is using them. It is a very special experience to soak in the hot springs in the snow."
