"Fantastic hotel, 10 out of 5 stars! The staff are always smiling and go out of their way to help with everything. It's perfectly clean everywhere! Breakfasts are delicious, and so are the dinners. A nice bonus is lunch from 3 PM to 5 PM. Thank you for the room upgrade, it was a lovely surprise. We'll definitely be back! "

"I and my family and friends altogether 24 people stayed from 29 Dec 22 to 2 Jan 23, 11 rooms from 20 rooms that hotel has total. The service is poor and take long time especially food serving during dinner. The GALA DINNER on 31 Dec night was very poor quality, less variety, clear soup and tom yam soup are cold because there is warming system for soup. The cost of GALA DINNER is THB 3,000 per person but the value is only 1/3 of the cost in my opinion. BBQ Seafood take long time to wait. The music is just one electron and also be singer. The most surprising is another singer is BBQ Chef who still on duty. Then BBQ was handle by some waitress/ waiter. And unbelievable is hotel staffs told that on 31 Dec lunch, they can not sell or serve us any meal because kitchen will he busy with GALA Dinner food. We as guests need to find our own lunch from other places! However after negotiations, they had solution to serve only a few menus. We all finish our Gala by 8.30 pm which it was our shortest New Year party in my life. From 6-8.30 pm, only 2.30 hours !!! Maid service was done from 4-5 pm everyday. If anyone want more information, i am happy to share my bad experience with you. I don't want you to waste money on the bad and poor hotel like this."

"The hotel is very isolated, with no restaurants or shops nearby, forcing you to eat all your meals at the hotel restaurant, unless you rent a scooter for the duration of your stay. The staff is attentive and quite helpful. The beach is dirty, the sand is earthy, with lots of rubbish and debris strewn across the ground. The sea is not pleasant, with numerous banks of land, rubbish, and very little depth making swimming very unpleasant. The rooms are spacious, but there is no furniture or storage cupboard, not even a rod or rack to hang hangers on. There is just a coat rack. So you are forced to leave your clothes in your suitcase or backpack. This is a really big problem when you stay there, like we did for a week, and of course there is no safe in the room. The sink area of the bathroom is not lit, and there is just a small mirror placed behind the sink, forcing you to do gymnastics to see your face. On the other hand, there is a large bathtub in the entrance which is completely useless. In the bedroom there is no curtain to hide the upper windows, as a result you are woken up by the daylight every morning from 6 a.m. The restaurant offers dishes at quite high prices. The dishes are quite generous, but rather greasy and salty and are really nothing exceptional. Breakfast is served at the table and must be ordered the day before, it is quite generous, but pastries and espresso are extra. The island of Koh Mak is very small (about 5 km x 7 km). There are only two sandy beaches where you can swim about 6 km from the hotel, it is around one of them that shops, hotels and restaurants are grouped. Unfortunately, there's almost no dry sand due to rising water levels. Despite regular cleaning of these two beaches by an association, there's still a lot of trash washed in by the tides. Trusting the positive reviews of the hotel and the island of Koh Mak, we wasted a week in a hotel and an island that had absolutely no interest."

Someone wrote that it's noisy because of the cars outside the window, but I disagree; the road is deserted at night. Peace and quiet... "The owner from the accommodation came and picked me up dot on time and for free from the accommodation I had been staying at on the island. She offers free pickup and drop offs at the ferry pier. I was able to check in early as my room was ready. The complex is small but so nice and clean! It's not on the beach itself, about a 5min walk. It's a 5min walk ro the main street where all the cafés, restaurants and supermarkets are. It's a clean, comfortable spacious room and clean bathroom. There were ants in the bathroom but none in the room. The drainage in the shower isn't great. There's hot water and good pressure in the shower. The fridge turns off when electricity key is taken out which is annoying as my milk and yoghurt was sat in a warm fridge all day. There's cleaning daily and the cleaner does a thorough job. It was the cleanest place I stayed at in Thailand. There's free coffee/hot water downstairs in reception area in the morning. Reception is open 8-6 but you can keep in touch via WhatsApp. I booked my onward journey with her. I stayed 3 nights due to availability, but could have easily stayed longer if it was possible. "

"Ripped off by the manager Suriya K - charged for 11 nights but only stayed 2! Offered a credit note instead of giving me my money back. Travelling single Mum with a child. Beware of said manager, also quite threatening in his manner. I would never go back here, Beautiful place, incredibly quiet, fantastic food, not with it staff as they get food and drink orders wrong all the time. The manager and the service staff hugely let the place down. Shame! Still fighting to get my money back!"

"We were there for two days, and for two of them we didn't have a functioning toilet. We were regularly woken up at night because the water in the toilet was rising. They have a general problem with the sewage system. Another annoying thing was that the entrance door downstairs didn't lock, allowing anything wet or damp to get in. The pool was murky and not at all inviting for a swim. Overall, for the high price, it was more of a "shack.""

"I can’t say enough about how amazing our experience was here at the Lazy Day Resort. The service was fantastic! The bungalows, while simple, were clean, only a few meters from the beach, and very quiet. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and there were so many options. The other guests were quiet and reserved, mostly middle-aged couples. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. It was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had!"

"The most beautiful property found on our trip to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. The apartments are extremely spacious, well furnished with spectacular views of the bay from the bedroom or the spacious terrace. Breakfast is good even if limited to sets to be ordered the day before (served at the table, no buffet). The restaurant is also good. The sea is not that of other islands but this is Koh Mak and it has its own magic. Scooter rental on site (necessary to get around the island), everything is still very close. Enjoy the view from your apartment in peace and relaxation."

"I had a great time here. I thought it was an absolute luxury that they came to pick you up from the pier and take you back. The hotel felt a bit deserted at first, but more and more guests arrived. The hotel staff couldn't speak English, but they were helpful in arranging a scooter. The location is truly 10/10. Eateries and beach bars in the immediate vicinity. The room was fine, except that one side of the bed had completely sagged. It was nice that there was water in the fridge upon arrival. I would stay here again. Good value for what you get!"
