"This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. We appreciated its central location and private car park. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful, the room was a good size and delightfully cool coming from the heat outside. The bathroom was well-appointed and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of options."

"Hotel is ok - rooms quite small but reasonable fixtures - some decor damage but minor. Setting & grounds quiet with some outdoor seating. A couple of restaurants within a few minutes walk so a good (out of town) location for a stopover Slept ok - no noise."

"This hotel has so much potential but from the moment we arrived we did not feel welcome. If you have children give this hotel a miss. The expectation that children are quiet and do not have fun put us us on edge and made it difficult to relax. We found the owners to be insincere and unfriendly. I was told on arrival if we needed anything to just ask, when we did ask for something this was not well received. We were treated to many dirty looks from both owners during our stay. We were friendly and polite but having children did not seem to be convenient for the owners. The location is lovely, the breakfast and coffee delicious. The bedrooms comfortably and clean."

"This dilapidated 17th Century hotel was a tourist trap…It was perhaps the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The stairs to the room were so steep we could barely get our luggage to the room. I felt the stairs were going to collapse under my feet. It was dark, dank, and to be honest a scary place to stay. We were met by the hotel manager who was pleasant enough, but we had to call him to open up the hotel so we could check in. Similarly the next morning when we tried to check out, he was no where to be found. We had to call the phone half a dozen times for him to pick up to get him to the desk. Quite frankly it felt like Hotel California - where you can check in but never leave…perhaps we were just one of the lucky ones and the devil said our souls weren’t pure enough to keep. Another comparison perhaps is the Batemans Hotel in Psycho"

"Absolutely lovely stay at La Templerie. Beautiful property and grounds, wonderful swimming pool area and outstanding hosts Natalie and Robert who went out of their way to make our 4 night stay as pleasant as possible. It is a stunning building which has been fully renovated by the hosts, and provides a peaceful and relaxing location for a getaway. Lovely bedrooms with great facilities and comfortable beds, and exceptional views of the picturesque grounds. La Flèche is a beautiful town with some fabulous restaurants, and the wider area is stunning with a multitude of vineyards and sites of interest to explore. We will certainly be back, and highly recommend the Temperlie to anybody looking to stay in the region."
