Villa Louvre Lens

Villa Louvre Lens ★★★

📍 8 Rue Gustave Spriet, Lens

"Avoid at All Costs! This B&B was appalling. Communication was nearly impossible as the hosts don't speak a word of English—despite claims of being bilingual. We struggled to get directions, and when we arrived, we had to park streets away. The entire check-in was in French, and we were charged an additional fee due to an "******* issue," even though we had already paid. Once inside, the room was horrifying. There were blood stains on the bedding, thick layers of dust on every surface, cobwebs, and unidentifiable stains all over the floor. Toe nails and dust inside the bedding, dirty stained walls & mirrors. The bathroom was dirty and smelled damp, with mold and hair-strewn appliances. We couldn’t stay and left within 10 minutes—at 9 PM—scrambling to find a new place to sleep. After emailing the owner in French (as she isn’t bilingual), I received no response. She doesn't even live on-site, which might explain the state of the property. I reported everything to *******, including photos showing how drastically different the place is from what’s advertised. However, because the owner refused to communicate and wouldn't speak English, ******* couldn’t get us a refund, only offering a £25 credit. Needless to say, I refused the credit and won’t be booking with ******* again!"

Ibis Styles Lens Centre Gare ★★★
"We were very well received. Small problem with the garage door but it was quickly repaired. The room was good for 4 people, bathroom too... only downside, there was only one chair in the room but we only had to sleep so it was not a big deal. We were a group of 21 people and we ate at the hotel restaurant "le show boulette" the waitress was alone and frankly, very kind, helpful and the food very good. And the lunch was very varied and very good for an ibis hotel for 1 to 2 nights I recommend!"
