This is an old grand hotel. Great location an easy walk to many popular destinations. The room is huge with high ceilings and the bed was comfortable. Please know that this hotel is huge and you literally have to walk around the halls to find an elevator. The furniture in the rooms needs some updating and the flooring in front of the elevators on each floor desperately needs renovation but this property overall is a good value.

Clean room with complimentary coffee and tea. Location is great just few minutes walk to centre, different restaurants and pubs outside. Great location. Breakfast not that bad. But just few selection from english breakfast, cereals and muffins. Juices and coffee. They are generous on shampoo, conditioner and body lotion just bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste as they don’t provide. comfy bed but it’s not soundproof. Im sleeping and suddenly i heard in other room they are making out. And the woman moan so loud that my sleep disturbed for a few minutes. My advice is go out and have lots of walks so when you got back to hotel you’re knackered and sleep well so you won’t hear any noise LOL. 😂
friendly and accomodating staff.

Checked out this morning as I had an appointment at Liverpool Hospital, beds were very comfy and the Hotel was very welcoming, lovely fish aquarium in the lobby which was very fitting with the theme. Breakfast was great with very lovely food and lovely wait staff, in particular a lovely tall brown haired girl, I forgot to ask her name, stood and had a conversation with me then gave me directions to the hotel and offered to call my taxi for me. Would recommend to any weary travellers looking for a good nights sleep and a lovely cooked breakfast.

Great centrally located city hotel. Clean, modern and friendly /helpful staff. I received a lovely welcome message from the General Manager and Operations Manager as were were part of the Wedding Group. There was a nice touch as we received a mini bottle of Liverpool Gin to drink or to have as a takeaway souvenir. Breakfast was ok except the coffee machine broke down. Luckily we could get a coffee from the bar. Some feedback - it would be good if the hotel could invest in a proper Italian barista coffee machine as some of the guests do not like Nescafé type coffee! A proper coffee with coffee beans and made at the time is much appreciated !

On arrival, the place is clean, well-staffed and welcoming. The standard of cleanliness in the rooms and hotel in general is very good. Rooms are large, comfortable and it's well-positioned in the centre of Liverpool so all is good....until.... Did I mention it's well-positioned in the centre of Liverpool? Well you're not the only one who knows that so it's a magnet for stag-parties, hen-dos and general rowdy people. The corridors are alive ALL through the night with boisterous young people determined to keep their parties going no matter the time or location. That's not just other rooms on your floor by the way. You'll get this from rooms above and below you as well. I went out on the corridor to ask politely if the noise could be lowered only to find the rooms on either side and across the hall were all closed and silent and there was no-one to be seen meaning the racket(s) going on - several simultaneously - were from further afield it was that loud. About 4-30 am, the noise went down significantly only to crank to crank up again at 6.30 by two girls yelling so they could be heard from all that distance away whether the people they were addressing their question to were going out or coming home. Two lads boasted VERY LOUDLY that this was in fact, the end of their night. Complaints to the staff about this had them apologising and assuring us that they'd sent up security several times to quiten the noise but it was coming from so many places and always moving from one room to another with slamming doors and banging feet up and down corridors while screaming loudly as they went. This meant there wasn't one single outbreak of boisterousness to be able to deal with. We were also assured we'd receive a discount to somehow compensate us for our discomfort but - of course- no discount was ever sent!

We are in the middle of a 2 night stay here, with no complaints so far. The room is large and contains all amenities - there is a cafetière if it interests you to bring your own ground coffee. Rooms contain a fridge, combi oven and 2 hobs and all kitchen equipment so that you can prepare your own food. Everything was clean and well serviced. Breakfast is complimentary if you don’t want to make your own, with a good selection including full English and continental options. I booked this hotel due to not wanting to be in the centre of town and it was a great choice, really close to Albert docks and an easy walk to Liverpool one and the restaurant quarter. Car park does have columns but being used to city centre parking it was no bother - the spaces are absolutely fine. Staff are really friendly and will happily accommodate you - somewhat unusual for an English hotel! Thank you Staybridge Suites, a lovely base to explore Liverpool.

Nice breezy walk over at the dock, not too far from OneLiverpool, the shopping and easy access to find food. Staff is moderately friendly. In room amenities is of average but the basic is there. Was disappointed that my in room safe were not functioning. WiFi connection is good, never disappoint me as this is one important factor that I believe is for everyone in this era. Overall, value stay and would recommend if anyone looking for stay.

we came back from an event approx midnight. asked for 2 glasses of red wine at the bar. staff member offered us a number of bottles . we picked one, she opened it. then the duty manager turned up and said that this wine wasn’t available by the glass only by the bottle. ( which was £55) we explained that we were offered this option by the bar staff but he still said no. bar staff then had to put the cork back in the bottle. we asked how they could do that when it could only bought by the bottle and no customer would buy a bottle of wine that had already been opened. no change. out of courtesy to the bar staff we agreed to pick another red wine. turns out they only had one glass left of that one and no spares . therefore we ended up with our 3rd choice option. this all took 45mns from order to serve. some of the worst hotel service we have ever had.

YYUANLONGTraditional English breakfast has grilled sausages, potato cakes, etc. The location is a bit off the beach but it doesn't matter if you hit Uber. The parking lot is at the door. The outside of the hotel looks average. After entering, the lobby is very design. There is a bar on the first floor, and there is a small river next to the bar.
GGiani DeClean hotel and accessible to centre. If you’re going to book for Rooftop make sure it’s suite room as the double room wasn’t that nice view in the balcony. Friendly staff in the breakfast area and to the receptionist who assist us 10th July 2024 (Wednesday) at 15:00 he’s approachable and accommodating I forgot his name he has tattoo. But a bit disappointed. Only continental breakfast you can have it if you’re in a hurry. But for hot breakfast you need to order in the menu and that’s the time they prepare it and serve for you I suggest it’s better everything is ready and hotel guest will just get it by themselves. Second one the receptionist who’s on shift at 11th July 2024 at 12:30 in the afternoon wasn’t that nice. it’s 2 ladies receptionist I pass the key on her and she just said thank you. The other lady just look at us without saying Hello. Front-desk receptionist should be accommodating. not even bother to ask us how’s our stay which should be standard to all Hotel service staff. Receptionist are the front one who promote your Business it’s just my opinion Halyard so I think it’s better to inform them.
GGuest UserLocation couldn't be better. Hotel is basic but serviceable, but I wish they had spent a little more on interiors for the beautiful building and interiors. You are in a world-heritage site but the room furnishings are basic roadside motel quality. It was particularly funny that the room itself was very large - with a basic double bed perched in one corner - there as room for a super king, which would look better and be nicer and only cost a tiny bit more. Bathroom was basic but fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lifts are small and slow, but I suspect that's a limitation of the space available and rules about listed buildings. But you stay here for the location and we were very pleased with that. TIP - don't bother parking at Liverpool ONE which is a hike away. Pay and display parking right at Albert Dock is essentially the same price and way more convenient
GGuest UserAll ok except assigned a disabled room for no,reason. All bathroom fittings low level to accommodate wheelchair users which were difficult to use if not in wheelchair also the water tap for showere was very stiff and virtually impossible to turn, off when wet. Room service food very limited due nil chef. Parking worked well but was an extra cost I wasn’t expecting till just before arrival.
GGuest UserGreat hotel, staff were lovely, rooms were gorgeous, lively atmosphere around the hotel- would definitely stay again- ideal location fir an event at the M&S arena - Albert Dock x
GGuest UserIf you want to conquer Downtown Liverpool by foot this Hotel is your perfect base camp. Located on Mount Pleasant the is a sight to reach whithin walking distance in all directions. The rooms are kept simple, but have everything you need. The staff is friendly and helpful, and although most of the guests are young travellers it is a quiet place, so you can have a good nights rest after your days on the streets of Liverpool. You should definitely start your day with a breakfast in the very uniquely furnished Restaurant/Bar. You'll be greeted by the most lovely Denise, who will fulfill your every wish. And while enjoying your coffee and planning your day you should ask her about the poins of interest wihtin the city. She may also provide some interesting facts about the histoy of the building you are staying at... you'll be surprised.
KKennedy83Firstly the bad points-
*The Carpark was full of old furniture from the hotel and empty beer barrier preventing you getting parked,
*The hotel has turned into more of a party venue hotel rather than the beautiful hotel it was when I last came with my daughter 2018.
*tap in the kitchen area in our room only let out hot water and unfortunately the room stunk of what I could only describe as a sewerage smell? Whether the drains needed maintenance I’m not sure but I I just sprayed some deodorant around to help make it not smell quite as bad because I was so tired I didnt want to have to swap rooms.
*There was also no phone to call reception which I found strange and the remote for the tv was missing the back of it.
I put all this bad points down to the fact that when I previously came it was owned by someone who really cared about the maintenance and reputation of the hotel but now I’ve found it’s since been sold it seems the new owner isn’t as bothered and all what the shankley represented before eg, maintenance, luxury, football themed has kind of turned more into a tacky themed hotel and doesn’t feel classy anymore. I’d probably not stay here again as it’s not the same as it was and just the whole feel of hand hotel is different. It’s not the best if you have come with kids as there’s lots of drunken guests in the hotel and it’s noisey but thank goodness it’s a large hotel as you don’t hear the noise from downstairs. We were on level 3.
Our room was lovely and big with a large double bed and 2 twins pushed together, a kitchen area with tea bags and coffee (no biscuits but that didn’t bother us as we had snacks with us
The upsides were-
*Staff were pleasant,
*breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly as for,
*hotel was mainly quiet on the 3rd floor, room was on the whole clean and had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board with a safe.
* . The bathroom was lovely especially the bath as it was a jacuzzi with a waterfall shower. Everything was clean from what I could see.
GGuest UserCity Studios, Rodney Street, is an excellent location in Liverpool - easily accessible for cultural and city attractions. The system for gaining access to the property worked well, in that the access codes came in good time and were fairly easy to use. The studio was lovely and warm, comfortable and clean, with good kitchen facilities. The only thing wrong was that the shower didn't work, although there was plenty of hot water. As we were only staying one night, we didn't ask for help with this, as we only found out quite late in the evening. If we'd been staying longer, we would have contacted the help number, and I'm sure something would have been done about it. We would use this venue again.
LLisaPeach23Disaster. Rooms were far from clean with very few items stocked. No mugs at all. All surfaces were dirty. Windows/blinds didn’t work and a huge hike up stairs with large bags. Couch filthy. My elderly parents were in a room with the living area in the basement which stank due to the shower leaking and the carpets were soaked. Their room was on the Main Street with people smoking & drinking directly outside. Customer service woeful - zero communication or help with check in and over two weeks later we are still waiting for 250 pound security deposit to be returned. Completely unacceptable and we are having to chase daily.
VVadim ZahharovPlace was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short.
As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good.
Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well.
Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.
