"Unexpected beautiful hotel facing the nyire river. Good food. River facing, spacious, clean rooms. Clean washrooms. AC. WIFI. They have a boat for cruise along the river. Cruise with lunch for 2.5hrs with lunch at 75,000 malawi kwacha = usd 40. the only cruising boat on river nyire in liwonde. Outside guest's can also do the lunch cruise. When we entered the gate, we did not expect such amazing hotel but we were wowed out. I woke up at 5.15am and sunrise was just amazing....not a glaring sun but a red ball you can view with your eyes. The hotel has a swimming pool too. Oooofffffff"

"Had a nice time at the Sunbird Nkopola as a presenter at a conference sponsored by Old Mutual Malawi. The Lake Malawi provides a good serenity environment and the staff was very polite and keen to assist in any way. Had a nice run in between. The road from Lilongwe is pretty bad but the driver managed it well"

Sunbird Ku Chawe

"Everything was amazing as far as the room, the view the ambience. The reason for the four instead of a five out of five is because our dinner last night as far as the food was not up to standard. We had a ribeye steak that seriously was 50% fat and vegetables were almost raw. Very disappointed. But the breakfast was amazing and don’t forget to try that plain yogurt."

"We had lunch here twice in July. Food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a bit but it was more efficient than several other Zomba restaurants we tried. Had excellent large steaks on husband's birthday."

Sunbird Nkopola

"For Africa this is a good hotel, but if you evaluate it by European standards, then it is 3 stars, even with a minus. The hotel is undergoing reconstruction. The rooms are not very clean, the furniture is old, the bathroom has problems, the pool is small. But the most important thing is that there is hot water and electricity. Also there was a delicious breakfast."
