Kruger Park Hostel ★★

📍 313 Varing St, Marloth Park

"Stayed here for 5 nights with my partner and can't even begin to describe the experience. It is wholesome, budget and so much fun! The meals were perfect. They also are so helpful to organise activities, massive shout out to Robert who does the game drives into Kruger, such a fantastic and intelligent guide, helped us find the big 5 in just 2 game drives! The hostel itself is beautiful, the property is gorgeous. You will wake up to have a coffee outside with the animals by the pool! We even were able to feed the animals, Zebras, Kudu, Warthog! One night while having a beer waiting for our delicious dinner we were rushed into the safari car to search for a Lion who was nearby who we could hear roaring just by the fence, such a fun experience and we did spot his eyes. They also would take us for sunset walks and dinners which were also just fantastic. A massive thank you to everyone at the hostel for a wonderful stay!"

Dream of Africa Bush Lodge ★★★

📍 1467 Luislang Avenue, Marloth Park

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dream of Africa Bush Lodge! Val and Neil are some of the friendliest and kindest hosts you could ever meet. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The rooms were perfect – beautifully clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The large garden was a true paradise, with access to the river and plenty of birds and wildlife to watch right from the property. The food was outstanding, all freshly and lovingly prepared by Val. Neil amazed everyone with his charm and deep knowledge of the Kruger Park and the surrounding area – he could answer every question and share incredible stories. If you’re looking for a peaceful, warm, and authentic experience near Kruger, Dream of Africa Lodge is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!"

Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge
8.5 (15 reviews)

Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge ★★★★

📍 442 Crocodile Rd, Marloth Park

"We received a friendly welcome from Johan and were shown to our room with views overlooking the crocodile river. The room itself was on the tired side, but it was clean and the large double bed was very extremely comfortable and we slept very well. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, the pressure was fabulous and we had constant hot water. It was rather nice standing under the shower overlooking the river.. similarly sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee late afternoon and soaking up the sun whilst animal spotting... all very relaxing. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly - thank you all! We enjoyed our stay"

Kruger Maroela Lodge

Kruger Maroela Lodge ★★★

📍 Maroela Street Plot 1051, Marloth Park

"We went for dinner and drinks. The food was excellent and the drinks very good. There was a problem with only half of the staff arriving for work, and with a lot of people arriving the owner made a point to visit each table to explain the situation. With such a lovely atmosphere and gardens we did not mind waiting and the food was definitely worth it!"

Maqueda Lodge Hotels in Marloth Park

Maqueda Lodge

"It is hard to know where to start when describing the exceptional experience we had staying at the Maqueda Lodge. The welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived was genuine and exhibited throughout our entire stay. The tranquility and beauty of the lodge contributed to a wonderful stay. The meals were plentiful and delicious. Food was traditional to the region. Of course our reason for booking this lodge was to visit Kruger National Park. We were not disappointed. The animals and vistas truly something to see. The Lodge arranged a late afternoon evening game drive on the day of our arrival. It was a good introduction. This was followed by a delicious multiple course dinner upon our return. The attention to detail was meaningful to us as guests. For example, we are not tea or coffee drinkers and the next thing we knew hot chocolate was available at every meal. The next two days, we were up early for full day game drives with a very knowledgeable guide. The days were marvelous. We learned so much from the guide and saw so many different animals. Again meals were scrumptious. The lodge was so inviting. The room was large and furniture and design fit the setting. The large common spaces for eating and sitting real made you feel welcome and the decor was inviting. One of the dinners was a barbecue, outside in a beautiful spot with a fire in a fire pit on the lodge grounds. The location is just a short drive to Kruger. There is also wild life here in Marloth Park where the lodge is located. A few things to know - Load shedding of electricity was a daily occurrence. The Lodge has a generator. As others stated - soap and shampoo was not provided. There was a hair dryer in the room. If you are looking for a place to stay with wonderful people, superb ambience, and delicious food this is the place to be. They arranged all the drives and took care of everything once we were at the lodge. Yoga was offered. We flew into Johannesburg and hired a guide to drive us 5 hours to the Lodge. The return drive was about 6 hours. Be sure and stop at the Azul Rest Stop for a bit of food and to see the Rhinos, etc. "

Tinyiko Kruger Lodge Hotels in Marloth Park

Tinyiko Kruger Lodge

"TRULY A SPECIAL PLACE We’ve stayed at many places in Marloth Park over the years, but Tinyiko Lodge stands out. Even while transitioning from a rental home to a full lodge, they have been absolutely exceptional in their effort, passion, service, and—most importantly—the comfort of their rooms. The food and hospitality have been consistently outstanding. Every company has its tough days, but I’ve never encountered a management team so determined to make things right and so committed to continually improving the guest experience. Their dedication is genuine, and it shows. East Africa has faced some challenging weather systems from October through December, yet Tinyiko Lodge adapted with grace and professionalism. On behalf of Safari Drive and Dive, thank you for reshaping your space to meet the needs of our guests and tours during this period. It has been a privilege to share these experiences with you, and I look forward to a bright and prosperous partnership ahead. Keep doing what you’re doing."

"W O W This was our first time in SA and it did not disappoint! The lodge is in a beautiful location with fabulous animals who love to visit. We got up close to the zebra, kudu, bush babies, genet, pumba and so many more. It far exceeded our expectations! The managers, Kent, Michelle, Terry & Trudy, went far beyond to make sure we were looked after, nothing was any trouble for them. The owner also dropped in and introduced himself, which was a lovely touch. The food was out of this world (although I did get a little over whelmed at portion size by my OH helped me out) The chefs were amazing and came out every meal to explain the food. The lodge was spotless, the lovely maids made sure of that. The pool guy kept himself busy, looking after both the grounds and pool. We stayed 10 nights and had an excursion booked every day. The Game Drives were wonderful. We were fortunate enough to see the big 5 more than once. I cannot express enough how amazing this was. Our guides, Dirk and Johan (Dirk for 3 & Johan for 1) absolutely knew their stuff and didn’t give up looking for animals. Dirk even found us wild dogs in our last 5 mins on our last safari. This isn’t just any holiday, it’s been the best experience of our lives and that’s down to the fantastic staff at Turaco. Thank you.. you truly made our year!"

Doringpoort Lodge ★★★★
"This lodge is located very close to the Crocodile river, which gives you a possibility to reach it withing a couple on minutes and watch the animals coming to the river from the Kruger park. The small house we stayed in was a bit small but contained everything we needed, including the kitchen and bathroom with a shower. There was a roofed fireplace nearby with a table, where it was possible to grill. The room service worked well, and the room was cleaned up every day. Some pieces in the house looked a bit old., but all was functional. Not much storage for the personal belongings. We had a great stay!"

Kruger Eden Lodge ★★★★
"This was the perfect base for our exploration of Kruger National Park. The accommodations themselves were amazing. Clean and comfortable, we were immensely pleased with ourselves for having booked our room at Kruger Eden. From our very hospitable host, Natalie, to the chef, Joseph, to every smiling employee we met, we always felt welcome and valued. Natalie was outstanding from beginning to end. She reached out on WhatsApp to confirm our arrival time and was there to meet us when we showed up after dark. She happily helped us with booking two safari drives (one private and one through Kruger). She gave us excellent suggestions on where to drive ourselves in the park when we were in our own vehicle. And she responded to every message we sent through WhatsApp in a very timely fashion. Natalie is the most competent host we have ever met! As a bonus, Kruger Eden has its own water purification system enabling us to drink freely without worry. We wholeheartedly recommend Kruger Eden for your trip to this amazing park!"

La Kruger Lifestyle Lodge - No Loadshedding ★★★★
"We had a wonderful stay at La Kruger which managed to substantially exceed all our expectations. The lodge itself is a collection of elegant buildings which are obviously well maintained and scrupulously clean. Our room had all that we required: the bed was very comfy, everything in the bathroom worked properly, the air conditioning was very effective and kept the room cool in 38C. There are places to sit very comfortably around the complex as well as outside one's room and a couple of plunge pools. The staff were quite delightful. Charming and ever helpful. Sobelo, Given and the others did everything possible to make our stay a delight. The food was truly excellent. Breakfast wás comprehensive and delicious, lunch for the few not on safari and other trips, simple but tasty and the dinners imaginative and delicious. The Kruger National Park, it's staff and the game rangers really came up trumps. In 3 safaris (and another in Marloth Park itself) we saw lions twice, spent time with a pack of wild dogs, saw a leopard and a cheetah, some kudu and dozens of elephants and giraffe, got surrounded by a herd of buffalo ( bit unnerving!) and saw innumerable zebra, impala and other buck. A truly wonderful trip and an excellent place to stay"

"We (mum and daughter) had an absolutely brilliant stay with Val and Neil. They were so welcoming, very knowledgeable, we had great conversations with them. It was a very personal experience where they wanted each of their guests to feel at home. Our room was great, spacious, the bed was so comfortable. Well presented. Everything was spotlessly clean! We choose half board. (Definitely recommend) The food was really lovely, and lots of it. Val organised the safaris for us too. They were even there at 3.30am with our picnic and to make sure that our pick up went smoothly. We managed to see The Big 5. Amazing!! The pool was an added bonus, lots of animals came to visit and we also met Charlie the crocodile in the lake at the bottom of the garden. It was our favourite accommodation in the 3 weeks we travelled across South Africa. We would definitely stay with them again and would highly recommend Dream of Africa Bush Lodge to everyone. Thank you Val and Neil.. "

Kruger Maroela Lodge ★★★
"Firstly, they told us they don’t do Safari walks anymore which was mentioned on the booking, they told us this few days before arrival. Huge inconvenience because, we had to further pay for a safari drive. Which was amazing thanks to George, the staff there was very nice to us especially Itu, she went out of her way to be helpful. On arrival we selected that we needed housekeeping services for the duration of our stay, fast forward to a few days after arrival and we sitting in a dirty cabin, smelly because the bin hasn’t been emptied and it’s hot there. Dirty towels, no toilet paper. We were a family of 6 so you can only imagine. We then reported to reception and were told they don’t have enough staff, (how is that our problem?) I work in the industry and I could never imagine telling that to a guest! I am very disappointed especially because we spent so much on the accommodation, no value for our money. Their pizza is horrible but their burgers were exceptional. "
