"The location appeared quite attractive on the photographs but the rooms we received were not in the main building but in separate tracts. These were very simple albeit functional and very quiet. The surroundings are bucolic and the proximity of le Puy en Velay quite practical if one does not want to park the car in the big city where traffic can be chaotic. We did not have dinner there but only breakfast which was served in a separate room of the main building. Practical but not very romantic !"

"A great place to stay - a really well-run hotel where you get a really warm welcome, in a lovely village with a beach and river swimming nearby. We have enjoyed a spotless, high-ceilinged room with really comfy beds and a really nice bathroom, as well as a little outside terrace with views over the Ardeche mountains. Breakfast is really excellent with local delicacies including chestnut honey, local yogurt and cheeses, and really good coffee and fruit juices, as well as pastries, bread, ham, etc. It also has excellent air conditioning, which is handy when the Ardeche is hit by hot weather - you still get a great night's sleep. There is convenient parking, too, and while the hotel does not have its own restaurant, there are good local options - including options a short walk away. The owner, from a family that have owned the hotel for decades, speaks good English and likes to practise it - handy if your French is rusty like mine! Warmly recommended!"

"A very bad experience today at lunchtime in this restaurant, which is nevertheless recognized as a Toque d’Auvergne. The banquette offered in the bistro section was very uncomfortable. After asking to be seated at the end of the table, on a chair, the manager spontaneously offered us a seat in the gastronomic section, where tables were available, to allow for a more comfortable seating arrangement. This solution, initially accepted and offered by the manager herself, was then refused by the manager. He indicated that this table required ordering the gastronomic menu. As a result, we were forced to pay €36 instead of the original €19 menu price, simply to be seated more comfortably. For an establishment recognized as a Toque d’Auvergne, one could legitimately expect a more respectful, consistent, and customer-focused welcome. A real lack of consideration and a very disappointing experience, especially considering we had been there before..."
