Vier Jahreszeiten Wellnessresort Achensee

Vier Jahreszeiten Wellnessresort Achensee ★★★★

📍 Eggweg 2-3, Maurach

"Tyrol from one of its most beautiful sides. These are the small towns on Lake Achensee, including Maurach a.A. Small and inconspicuous, but still home to beautiful and great hotels at ****+ level. Four Seasons sounds general, but is special: ♡ lovely, ♡ unobtrusively family-friendly, ♡ uniquely Tyrolean, paired with Italian hospitality and specialties, ♡ the service and friendliness of Hungarian professional staff with excellent language skills. Simply highly recommended."

Familienresort Buchau

Familienresort Buchau ★★★★

📍 Buchauerstraße 3, Maurach

"Lake view suite... actually, a view of a hideous yellow and red water slide. "Yes, but the lake is behind it..." True, but when you book a lake view room, it's to see it. To top it off, an obnoxious manager, who refused to change our room even though rooms were available on the hotel's website, told us that "the room is for sleeping, not for seeing the lake!" And as a final response, if we weren't happy, we could go home. Shameful!"

"An aging hotel, built on the sand of the seventies."

📍 Dorfstraße 40/41, Maurach

"I loved this hotel. I flew into Munich and was headed down to Serfaus, Austria. After arriving from a long flight, I did not want to drive the entire way, so I chose Hotel Klinger as my 1st stop for 2 nights -- break up the drive and give myself a couple of days to get over jetlag before heading into the main part of my trip. It's a very easy drive from Munich Airport -- only about 1.5 hours. And it's a perfect location for a 1st stop -- easy to find, parking, a grocery store at the ground level (if you find you've forgotten to pack something), a bank across the street, several nearby restaurants, a bike rental place, etc. The room was nice, although I found the enclosed balcony a bit of a weird room -- and it doesn't allow fresh air straight into the bedroom. Their breakfast buffet was very nice, and everyone I encountered that worked there was friendly. It's also pretty affordable. I would definitely stay here again."

Vier Jahreszeiten Wellnessresort Achensee ★★★★
"The food was consistently the best I have ever had and the Austrian Alps are one of the prettiest places in the world. Plus, the hotel worked to help ship back my wedding suit I accidentally left behind in spite of the headache. 10/10 want to go back ASAP."

Familienresort Buchau ★★★★
"I stayed here for a week with a five year old and a seven year old. I found the resort to have many thoughtful touches to accommodate families with some areas that could be improved. On plus side: -Free parking -While frustrating, having to manually wave to open the main door made sense with the cold temperatures -The arrival gift for the kids -The dish caddy robots were certainly a hit -The fresh squeezed orange juice machine -The ice cream machine -Free washers / dryers -Meals were great and the lunches were substantial -Heated floor in the bathroom was fantastic -Saunas and steam rooms were great Needs improvement: -The layout of the resort is difficult -The pools, while great, were a bit on the cold side, especially for the winter. -The hot tub was not really "hot" and the jacuzzi (bubbles) worked intermittently -We were in the "Karwendel Suite III" which was great for kids, but had the main bed in the middle, with no privacy / door -Having a refrigerator in the room was great, but a microwave would have been nice as well -The individual duvets were quaint, but a bit on the small side for Americans -We had a couples massage that was mediocre, even for a "resort". The massages were also all booked up when we checked in. -The washers / dryers were almost frequently in use with one of the washers not having a "countdown" on it to know when it would finish it's cycle."

"We wanted to visit Achensee and stay one night and based on price we decided to stay at this hotel and I can confirm it was a bad choice. An old building and very small rooms. Noise from the street goes to your room and at night it becomes annoying as cars and trucks pass by. Also, some guest smoking in the balcony and you can smell the smoke because we had our window slightly open for the fresh air. The staff are friendly but the hotel is way below average. Breakfast was basic and not too bad. Free parking is available on the street."
