📍 Plage de Mbour - BP 701, Mbour

"Shabby, dirty, rock hard mattress on concrete surface. Shower, toilet and sink in a cubicle measuring 1.5 by 1.5. Everything got wet. Toilet seat broken. Scanty breakfast with old bread. Location is beautiful by the sea. Overbooked"

Hotel Riu Baobab - All Inclusive

Hotel Riu Baobab - All Inclusive ★★★★★

📍 Parcelle 4, Pointe Sarène, Mbour

"This hotel is very good and beautiful. The dinner buffet has a wide variety of options and free alcoholic beverages. The staff provides excellent service and check-in was quick. However, the room lacks amenities which I expect from a five-star hotel. There should be toothbrushes or slippers, but there weren't."

📍 CXVP+CGP, Rue Du Karting S/n, Rte de Saly, Saly Portudal

"We went here for dinner but were very disappointed with the food and service. The dishes served were mediocre and the servers lacked professionalism. Very poor value for money."

📍 Serere Souf, Mbour

"It’s a nice guesthouse with sea view rooms. The outside area with a small swimming pool is pleasant. The staff are nice and the food is reasonably priced and good. Unfortunately the location is a bit far from Mbour and Saly and the beachfront is very dirty. The Wi-Fi is rather weak. However if you want to escape from it all, it’s a good place."

Mövenpick Resort Lamantin Saly

Mövenpick Resort Lamantin Saly ★★★★★

📍 Saly Nord, Saly Portudal

"It's a nice environment, but the staff is not performing at there best. There was a room service tray from someone else placed in front of my room. I asked before going to breakfast to have it removed. After 2 hours it was still there. I placed it in the middle of the grass, and even then staff passed and did not take it away. I told it again at reception, and then finally it was solved. The wifi in the rooms further away from reception is non existent or poor. In the shower the shower gel was empty, and not replaced before arrival.i don't smoke but the ashtray was full before arrival. It's not the level of a Movempick Resort. Also at night, very difficult to find your room, because the room numbers are not illuminated, you have to use your cellphone with light to find it."

Le Saly Hotel & Hotel Club Filaos - All Inclusive ★★★★

📍 CXQP+Q4R BP 69, Rte de Saly Saly Portudal, M'bour, Saly Portudal

"Hotel Filaos was overbooked, we had to go to another hotel with 17 others, we were in Sally, the hotel next door, the 1st room had not yet been cleaned, we were given another room with the dirty towels still in it. All inclusive was limited in terms of cocktails, only non-alcoholic juices. In the afternoon we went to another hotel, where a week later we spoke to people who had just arrived and again Filaos was overbooked. They have to take this hotel off the list, a lot of stress"

Neptune ★★★

📍 BP 742, Saly Portudal

"Just returned from a great two weeks at this small friendly hotel. The grounds were immaculately maintained a massive well done to the gardeners. Our room was a superior one so had tea and coffee making facilities a fridge and a small seating area. The rooms were spotless and towels changed regularly. We were half board, breakfast was really good with a wide choice including fresh fruit, pastries and omelettes cooked to order. I am a veggie so unfortunately very little choice available on the set menu at dinner but staff were really helpful (esp Alfonso) and went out of their way to make sure I didn’t go hungry. Great selection of puddings. The hotel is not on the beach but you are very very near. We didn’t get hassled at all on the short walk there or on the beach. Local people did say hello but never felt hassled in any way. Swimming pool area well maintained with lots of sunbeds. There was entertainment ever night which was pleasant and prompted lots of guests to dance. Would definitely recommend for a quiet relaxing holiday in really pleasant surroundings"

"The hotel is located in the city centre of Jade, with a spacious and spacious room with a beautiful kitchen and living room. The restaurant is not all operational and they offer a room service for the DJP and meals. All is served on the terrace on the edge of the pool. You would believe in the home. Very good food and careful service. The rooms are spacious, very well equipped, impec litter and soft toilet lingerie. Immense Italian shower. A machine is available for expresso"

"Do not stay here! Especially if you are female or on your own or have kids. Owner alternates between aggressive, passive aggressive and mean but can be helpful with some of the French guests (he's French). He calls himself Le Capitaine and his girlfriend? / wife? / concubine ? who speaks English does not help at all, in fact she sleeps in the common area on the chairs and gets annoyed if you disturb her, even though this is the only place where the wifi works. The driver was supposed to take us to a specific beach area but couldn't read a gps so he tried to get rid of us by dropping us off in the middle of nowhere, then tried to drop us off at some random house in some random town and then finally listened to our directions to get us near where we wanted to go. He complained that he needed us gone as he had to get back to the hotel for an airport run. The facility is close to Bandia Reserve but otherwise there is nothing nearby which is a problem because the owner keeps to a very rigid meal schedule. Dinner is 7:30, no flexibility. Even when we went out for the morning and came back for lunch to find the owner gone and we were unable to eat as there was no one there and kitchen was closed. Except for the cat that lives in it. When the owner finally returned late afternoon with his partner, the two of them sat down to a large meal of rice, meats, salads, dessert. We asked if we could get something to eat which was answered with a snarky no, dinner is at 7:30. We explained we hadn't eaten since breakfast and they didn't serve lunch as they weren't there. The female partner got mad at us for interrupting them. We settled our bill and left. The whole place has an "ick" factor to it. Not child friendly with the very rigid and late dinner hour as well as a phallic tap in community bathroom, sexually inappropriate murals in the rooms, French tv is always on the common area, the pool is closed although advertised as open, beer is more expensive than anywhere else we went in Senegal including fancy hotels. Felt celebratory to get out of there."

"A hotel located on the small coast in Senegal in a quiet area, because a little bit out of the way from Saly. The place lives up to the photos and is completely idyllic. We arrived there on a Sunday morning at 3am and were welcomed because the reception is open 24 hours a day. The birdsong accompanies you as soon as you wake up and breathtaking landscapes with a view of the sea are there, including the splendid sunsets. The hotel staff is very pleasant and attentive. The manager, Fodé, is very proactive and is constantly trying to improve the quality of service at his establishment. We were even able to stay until 5pm without a supplement on the day of our departure. The price we were able to obtain, thanks to Opodo prime, was totally correct compared to the service which was half-board. Breakfast consisted of bread, butter, jam and Bissap as well as coffee and tea. Dinner consisted of a main course and a dessert decided by the chef who cooks relatively well overall. We ate a delicious beef bourguignon in particular. We highly recommend this establishment and have wonderful memories of it. The month"

"Staff is extremely rude, yells at clients, damages clients properties when cleaning without even giving an apology or acknowledging it. Breakfast is very basic. Wood floors in the rooms make lots of noise when walking. Staff is very curious and stare a lot. This is not a 5 stars hotel!"

Le Saly Hotel & Hotel Club Filaos - All Inclusive ★★★★
"After a few days touring Dakar, pink lake and Goree Island I relocated to the beach resort town of Saly and checked into the hotel which is made up of two parts Le Saly Hotel and Les Filaos. I was given a room in the Les Filaos part, which I was told had all the entertainment and events. Very beautiful resort hotel with a beach front. For the next 6 days I relaxed on the beach after breakfast drinking cocktail and reading a book on my tablet. Lots of activities during the day, unfortunately they were all in french so i couldn't join in as an English speaker. The evenings were capped with a show from 7 to 8pm also in french. I really had a very relaxing visit and spent more time on the beach than in my other beach resort vacations mainly because Saly Town doesn't have any other tourist attraction beyond the beach."

"Very nice gardens. A short 2 min walk to the beach. Room, nice enough. Comfy bed, enough storage, air con good. Shower was good even though most of the water came out of the side of the shower head. We did miss having a balcony, but opening the windows we saw and heard lots of birds, very nice. Food, breakfast was cereals, pastries, fruit, with bacon and sausages most says. Also egg station for crepes or omelettes. We spotted the 2 slot toaster after 3 days there. Also coffee tea or juice to drink. All very clean and set overlooking the pool. Evening meal was waiter service which we preferred to buffet. It took a while translate from French but we managed. Lovely food made by a chef. Pool was large, with easy access by stone steps and pleasant temperature. Mostly free beds, but at times it was busy. The Beach was large, clean, lots of sunbeds. Very sandy. Sea very cold and not too clear due to sand churned up. We loved watching the world go by. One local took his goat in for a swim and a play! The main language there is French, we got by but most guests were French. They always greeted us and smiled. Evenings, a few older French couples danced, most music was French, a few English songs done as well,a Senegal trad dance show was great fun. A few of us joined in. We didn’t do out far as didn’t look to welcoming outside. Got a taxi to a large supermarket for some basic supplies and change some money. Took us a while to grasp the local money, the poor bar staff at hotel Were very patient and kind! We did go to the royam bar and beach bar some nights. The safari was highlight of our week. Booked through tui. Saw so many animals with no fences around. The transport that took around was large and allowed us to see really well. Met some fellow brits at hotel and they were all lovely. Overall a great, memorable holiday, we won’t revisit but so glad we did it."
