It is suitable for self-driving, otherwise you need to take a taxi. It is more than 7 kilometers away from the ancient city of Montepulciano.
The ancient city is very beautiful. There is a thousand-year-old wine cellar that was converted from a former church. It is highly recommended! It is the best wine in Italy.
Very suitable for a slow-life vacation, with a swimming pool.

Good value for money! The staff is very friendly and there is an elevator. The room for 3 is spacious and nice. Because it was only a mountain, there were a lot of mosquitoes. I'll give you mosquito repellent if you ask.

This is our 2nd stay at Villa Ambra, and we loved it !! First time there was a few years ago, and we visited as a couple. We enjoyed it so much, that this time we are visiting as family. Marcio is a super kind person, as well as his family. This time we booked a double room, for my husband and me, located at the hotel building and we also booked a 2 bedroom apartment for my 2 young adult sons and his girlfriend, the apartment it’s not located exactly where the hotel is, it is located a few meters away. The apartment is super comfortable, private, lovely and sparkling clean. We booked with the option of breakfasts included, and it was delicious ! If you are planning a few days visiting Tuscany, without any doubt this is the place to stay. It is just a short drive to beautiful Tuscany towns. We stayed here and visited Florence, Pisa, Pienza and Montepulciano.

This was our seventh stay at Villa Ambra when in the Montepulciano area, and we would not stay anywhere else. The hosts, Marzio, Catia, Andrea, and Federico treat us as if we are family. One of the benefits of staying at Villa Ambra is partaking of the dinner that is offered. Each night provides a taste of local Tuscan cuisine along with a bottle of the fine wine that they produce. The five course meal is a delight to the taste buds. The rooms are comfortable and clean, along with a nice outdoor sitting area. A substantial breakfast is provided with a variety to choose from. The hotel offers wines and olive oil for sale from their own vineyard and olive trees. These are all reasonably priced and can be shipped home. We look forward to seeing these wonderful people again in the future.

The room was dark, very bad lightning and old style decoration. The signal of internet did. ot arrive to the room, even they said that wifi included. The staff was not th friendliest. At least there was a swimming pool and free parking. I would not go back there.

Amazing stay! So much more than expected….hotel and staff incredible. Food and service was so personal it was fabulous for such a reasonable price. Great location for easy access to explore. So many personal touches making every guest feel special Website really needs updating by a professional as doesn’t depict hotel in true light and how lovely it actually is

Nice family run hotel. Friendly staff. Half board option was good choice and worth of money. Service was very good and when we spent two nights not finished wine bottle was saved to us and we could enjoy rest in second evening. Driving distance to many beautiful sights.

After a three year hiatus due to COVID, we were thrilled to be back at Villa Ambra and greeted warmly be Marzio, Katia, and Andrea. This was our sixth stay and will remain our go to hotel while in the Montepulciano area. We throughly enjoyed the evening five course meal provided by the hotel and the hearty breakfast each day. As in the past, we were able to purchase both wine and olive oil from the vineyard and groves that both Marzio and Andrea have produced from their property. We look forward to visiting our friends at Villa Ambra within the next two years.
