"The hotel is directly opposite the JR station, accessible via a pedestrian overpass. A ferry terminal is right downstairs. There are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it a very convenient location in town. The staff can communicate in English, and daily housekeeping is provided. They also deliver water, biscuits, and jelly every day. There's a free massage chair available on every floor's elevator lobby. Guests get a discount at the second-floor restaurant, which is quite a good deal. The cleanliness is generally acceptable, but some details are lacking, like a layer of dust on the humidifier."

"The servicev of this hotel is unspeakable. I was there with a friend for the Shimanami Kaido, but Got a nerve trapped and had to rest. I booked a single Room for a night but later decided I needed 2 nights for recovery. I had to change Room from a double to a single Room - and the reception made it clear to me that I had booked for 3 nights 1 + 2 nights - not alterer the original booking from 1 to 2 nights. I made it clear i Only needed 2 nights as my friend returned. The hotel Said itcwould be ok - but when I looked at my bank account 3 nights were charged. When I mentioned that to the reception they Said they did not do a refund - but I would rater have used my Room for a pieceful night of sleep and so would my friend than being ripped of by a greedy hotel."

"The room was a bit small, and it's about a 10-minute walk from the station. However, the view of the sea from the window was absolutely stunning! There's a Lawson convenience store nearby, which was very handy for food, and there are also plenty of restaurants in the area."

"I absolutely loved this little hotel! All of the front desk staff were extremely helpful to me. The staff was kind & pleasant always & went the extra mile with friendly, helpful service. I was here for the Shimanami Kaido trail & I changed my travel plans so I could come back and stay at this hotel for two more nights at the end of my ride. I really did not want to leave. I love that the hotel is on the second floor of the train station. The hotel elevator is right after you pass the fare gates. This location made getting around to other cities in the area much more convenient. I did not mind the trains passing through the station. I did not hear the trains and slept through the night very peacefully and comfortably. I was sad to leave. I will be back. Thank you to the front desk staff for a great stay! ❤️❤️❤️"

"Onomichi is an internet celebrity hotel! You can rent bicycles at the hotel, and plum bicycles cost 4,000 yen a day, which is a great deal! The room is relatively small, the toilet and bathroom are separated by curtains and glass, and the sound insulation is not good"

"Amazing Minatoya Cafe, bar and restaurant attached to the boutique hotel - Soil. Specialising in woodfire cooked meats and vegetables and striving to incorporate many local ingredients in their dishes. Small and larger dishes were all great for sharing. We tried many dishes including dessert, and we loved everything. Very high quality food - especially enjoyed the woodfired pork dish. The red and white wines were also very good. We only speak English but the lovely young staff were great. Our waiter introduced each dish, explaining the local ingredients and discussing the wines and local Onomichi craft beer made with Oranges! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Breakfast the next morning was very yummy too. Thank you, we had a great stay at Soil."

"The radon hot springs were amazing. They warmed me up. The rooms, the building, and the changing rooms were all meticulously cleaned. The staff were a comfortable distance away. The hotel is a 24-minute public bus ride from Onomichi Station, so you don't need a car. There's a supermarket and convenience store nearby. The hair dryer has plenty of airflow. It would be a waste to just visit Onomichi. I recommend enjoying the hot springs at Yoro Onsen as well."

"We stayed for 2 short nights at this small fabulous hotel. All the communication pre check in and after check in was professional and helpful. The hotel has been most magnificently and tastefully renovated. Arriving for breakfast at the most peaceful setting was a highlight of our trip to Japan. The 10 course dinner at their restaurant was outstanding and highly recommended. The rooms were beautiful. We all had the best nights sleep and we appreciated them accommodating our 10 year olds upstairs. The cycle tour they arranged for us was amazing and the entire family loved it. Our only complaint was that our stay was too short. We enjoyed the slower pace this brought to our busy 3 week trip."

"It's not a large inn, but it's very clean, and the entire building was spotless. Upon arrival, we were offered tea and sweets, which was very relaxing. It was a mother-daughter trip, and the room was very comfortable. The bathtub in the room wasn't particularly large, but it had a jet bath-like feature that extended from the shoulders and arms, and we were able to relax in it with the lights dimmed. All the room amenities were provided, and both yukata in various sizes and pajamas were available. The hairdryer had good airflow. We were worried about noise since our room was in front of the reception area, but it seemed to be soundproofed, as we could hardly hear any outside noise from inside the building, and it didn't bother us at all. The meals were wonderful and we were very satisfied. I'm a big eater, but I was full, and I made rice balls out of the leftover sea bream rice. The white rice in the earthenware pot at breakfast was also delicious, and we were told that we could have seconds of the sea bream soup, which everyone around us enjoyed and had seconds of. All the staff were wonderful and attentive, and it felt like we had finally found a truly satisfying inn after a long time!"

"They are some spanish people still making the house. the house is NOT HOSTEL....it has more like an Air BnB with snobbish owners. While lost travellers were told to vacate common areas by 2200Hrs. Luggage is not being kept, unlike other hostels. After a long bike ride, they don't even care to give a place or washroom to change clothes. Very sad experience. categorise this as air bnn, because it fails all tests of a conventional hostel"

"The room seemed like a Japanese-style room turned into a Western-style room, but it was comfortable. Although it was a little different from the "ocean view" (￣▽￣;), it was fun to see the view of the pier from the window. Above all, the food was so luxurious that I couldn't finish it all, so I was very happy. It was full of seafood and everything was delicious."
