"The bartender we had, Baylee, was great. Food was very good. Only disappointment was being woken up at 8:00 as they were doing renovations. Felt like the banging from hammers was in my room. Front desk didn’t give a crap about it. Check out time is at 11. That’s when renovations should start!"

"Great location right on the waterfront. Beds are comfortable. However, the hotel needs renovations - the furniture is badly worn, there is a hole in the bathroom ceiling, the shower tiles are dirty, the walls are scratched and dirty, and there is mold growing on the window sill. Buffet breakfast was mediocre at best. Could hear screaming kids, so no sound proofing. Do not plan to return again."

"The attractions I wanted to visit were all far away. The hotel was packed with tour groups, the breakfast selection was extremely limited, and I even found moldy bread. After informing the staff, there was no apology or remorse. I checked out early and left. I will never book with this hotel again."

"Briarwood has about 30 or 40 units - a mix of cottages and motel-style rooms. It is located on a large piece of waterfront, well away from any busy roads, so it is very quiet. We stayed in mid-June, which is shoulder season, so it was only partly full, but another guest said this place is known for being quiet and not being a party place. Our room was clean, but had a few issues: - on entry, there was a strong chemical smell; it took 3 or 4 hours of running the bathroom fan to reduce the smell to a reasonable level for sleeping. They need to change to less noxious cleaning products. - the beds were satisfactory, but definitely the least comfortable of the five properties we stayed at on our trip - there was no table or chair, and no overhead lighting, so some areas of the room were poorly lit - I couldn't figure out how to use the TV (to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs). I called the office and someone came over, but he was as confused as I was. Eventually the owner came over and it took him 5 or 10 minutes to get to live TV. They need to leave instructions for guests (it's always a challenge for travelers, because of different systems in different places). I understand the owners are new, and I wish them well running this property. It has a lot of potential."
