📍 C. Esteros, 3, Huelva, Punta Umbria

"During our trip between Portugal and Spain we set our sights on this hotel which is close to the sea (less than 5 minutes on foot). Being out of season we benefited from a room on the top floor with a splendid view of the sea as far as the eye can see. Very pleasant staff and ready to make your stay pleasant. Nice swimming pool downstairs to relax. Presence of a small gym but did not have time to use it. Restaurant for dinner not bad and not too expensive. Good breakfast. Parking is chargeable but out of season this does not seem necessary. Have a good trip"

"We are still on holidays here, on this resort and I want to say that we are veryyyyy disappointed! Apart that we’ve paid extra for our room ( for pool view or natural view), our room is situated on a corner … 95% of people are speaking Spanish ( employees ) and it’s annoying for kids with all those programs offered. We had to go to buy bottles of water from shop as there is no bottle in resort even if it’s all inclusive! Nobody mentioned that there are 3 resorts next to each other ( apart from that one that is for ‘elderly’) and people is treated differently. We expected to have a nice experience like in Fuertaventura but seems that is not the same quality. When we ve booked with jet2, nothing was specified. I even searched online about this resort and nobody mentioned that there are 3 buildings next to each others ( different categories ) and from reception, on your arrival, they’re offering you rooms after their’imagination’! We will never come back here !"

"It is well located, in a quieter area of Punta Umbria and close to the beach. The apartments are nothing extraordinary. One thing I liked is that they take care to have a kit with a new dish sponge, dishcloth and detergent for each guest. The cleanliness of the apartment is nothing special. They only cleaned it once in a week, and not very well. They allow pets, which is good for those who like to bring their four-legged friends, but it creates more noise. The insulation is also not very good."

Hotel Ayamontino ★★

"I would like to share my experience in case it could help other people avoid the same situation. I booked a night at the Hotel Ayamontinos in Punta Umbría to go to the beach with my mother and asked beforehand about the availability of parking, since the hotel advertises having parking on its website. They informed me that they did not have free spaces for that night, but that there were nearby parking options with vouchers to leave the car overnight. On the day of our arrival, a Saturday in the high season of August, we left the car in a double park to check in and leave our bags in the luggage storage. The receptionist, with an ironic attitude and a laugh, told us to go look for parking. We spent two hours searching in the surroundings and in more remote areas, but we found nothing. When we tried to contact the hotel for help, he simply told us to keep looking and that he couldn't help us with the difference between the different parking areas as he wasn't sure (we asked about the maximum hours that the car could be parked). Afterwards, the phone was constantly busy. My mother, exhausted from searching so much without success, asked me to go back to the hotel and asked the receptionist in person again for help to find parking somewhere else or to see if there was a possibility of cancelling the reservation and getting our money refunded in the situation... His response was, over and over again and laughing, as if we were useless "it's not our responsibility whether they find parking or not." Even when we asked him to guide us with Google Maps to the mentioned locations, his attitude was dismissive, saying in a bad way that he wouldn't help us if we were being ironic (it occurred to me to ask if that exact indication of the address could be his responsibility...). In response to this, after much effort, we found a parking space and were finally able to stop for something to eat and enjoy the afternoon. The next day, I tried to make a complaint to the person who claimed to be the reservations manager (they refused to identify themselves in any way), who showed the same ironic and defiant attitude. My mother was also the target of their mockery. They questioned us, asking how we were going to complain about not finding parking, and with that attitude and given how unpleasant the situation was becoming, we decided not to go ahead with the complaint so we could begin our journey home a little calmer. It is important to note that this review focuses exclusively on the poor treatment received by the reception staff, and not on the hotel facilities. In the middle of the high season in August, when customers pay a considerable amount for their stay, it is unacceptable that the staff does not care or take care of their basic needs, offering any option, however minimal."

📍 Av. del Océano, s/n, Punta Umbria

"The hotel is the nicer, smaller sister to the Barceló Beach Resort, it is quiet, has nice food, a nice pool and good views from the 1st floor rooms which face the sea. The restaurant is a little bit school canteen like but the food is good and there is a wide choice. There is a top quality restaurant on site but during our stay this was not open during mid week."

"As always, the attention of the girl at the reception... very friendly, she gave us the same apartment as every year, which I really appreciate, about the apartments, clean, with all the utensils you need, large refrigerator, comfortable beds I'm not saying what the apartment is so they don't catch me so much hahaha, just kidding. A 10 for the Leo Deluxe"

"Terrible food, terrible service, they don't solve your problem. They spend an entire day talking to management. I don't recommend it, they're lying!!!! They tell you they'll solve your problem and when you call them the 4th time, they tell you they can't contact management."

Barceló Punta Umbría Beach Resort ★★★★
"Overall not a bad experience. The resort is well organized, the food wasn't bad and the pools and kids entertainment are nice as well. Regardless, i can't give more than 3 stars simply because of how rude the bartenders are. Always serving you as if you're bothering them. You cannot ask anything outside a gin tonic, beer and any other drink that is already premade in their cointainers (be advised, extremely sweet all of them). If you ask for a proper drink to be made on the spot they will deny to do it. One of them even trew her hands in the air, walked away and called her supervisor, just so he could tell us, like we were kids, they won't do it (the drink was on the menu). We were never obnoxious, drunk or unpolite - this behavior was accross multiple bars, and over 10-15 people in a week's time. In this specific situation we resorted to ask the ingredients to be served seperatly and made the mojito right in front of them, that's how ridiculous it was. I understand you might not be allowed to serve items outside the menu, or everybody would simply rush and ask for the craziest cocktails, but still, just have some deciency to have a sign or be polite explainning it. People are paying an all inclusive stay, the minimum you can do is a couple of drinks. To be very clear, this was specific to the bartenders and servers at the bar. All the other personal was extremely nice."

"We stayed at the Leo III for adults only, and overall it was wonderful. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. Everything was brand new, especially the kitchen. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The location was also very good. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and the change of sheets and towels, which is unusual for apartments. The entertainment during the pool party was also very good. If we return to Punta Umbría, we'll stay here again. If I had to find a fault, it would be that the bathroom is too small, as is the closet."

"Terrible. The smell in the rooms and common areas is repulsive, unbearable. The rooms are full of dust. And the lighting in the rooms is poor. It is impossible to rest with that smell that even stuck to your clothes. We would like no one to go through this situation, so uncomfortable."

Leo Deluxe Punta Umbría ★★★★
"When we got to the apartments we saw them a little ugly on the outside but when we entered the apartment we saw that it wasn't too bad. But deluxe apartment?😳not at all. It lacks basic services to have that rating, such as a small kitchen and a microwave and refrigerator. Scarce kitchen utensils. The bedrooms are not bad and only one bathroom for 4. The Wi-Fi was practically non-existent unless you paid an extra fee, which is more than included in a luxury apartment. If you add parking and a lot of services that should be included because it is “luxury”, you pay more than 2000 euros for a typical apartment. The cleaning ladies were generally nice except for the one on Thursday the 10th who called to clean at 10 in the morning and since we were having breakfast she gave us a bad look. Then I called at 11 and as we were about to go to the beach she told us to hurry up because she couldn't spend all morning wandering around. To do gymnastics you had to get up at 7 because the spa started and the two things together were like metaphysics. The small pool allows you to play with balls and as you can imagine it is a battlefield. If they changed the cleaning every day (which is not very noticeable except that they make your bed) for a wifi that is powered by pedals, the place would improve somewhat. Punta Umbría as such is great but if you want to go to a luxury place, it's not even close. I travel a lot and I have been in apartments that, without being classified as luxury, were fantastic and had all the basics. So 2000 euros plus the bonuses (I forgot the washer and dryer) you get the joke and more than 2000 euros long. For that I pay a little more and go to Barcelo. The people at reception simply neither fu nor fa. Few services and many pretensions. I would neither return nor recommend it."
