"I hadn’t been to Villa Marie in 20 years, but with my preferred hotel, Château de la Messardière, fully booked, I decided to give it another try. I booked a suite for €3,500 expecting a premium experience. Unfortunately, what I found was a hotel that hasn’t evolved in two decades. The decor is dated and tired, with no sign of renovation or modernisation since my last visit. For the price point, this is unacceptable. Service was consistently poor. Breakfast was chaotic every morning, with staff clearly overwhelmed and disorganised. More concerning, there was no hot water in the shower or taps for three full days, despite multiple complaints. A bathroom light was out, making it very dark, and it was never replaced. Even small details like empty Kleenex boxes were ignored and not replenished. The concierge was ineffective—we weren’t able to secure a single restaurant reservation through them and had to rely entirely on our own contacts. Villa Marie has potential, but it needs serious attention. Until it’s taken over and fully redone, it simply cannot justify the rates it charges."

"This is at best a 3 star hotel (we didn’t spend too much time elsewhere in the premise so can’t comment there ; but just in our room). The rooms are old, few issues we ran into 1) no blackout curtain 2) no coffee/kettle in the room - need to ask for it. 3) room is small and old 4) hairdryer is one of those from the 90s attached to the wall 5) hot water taking a shower goes in and out. So can get really hot or cold for a split second It’s a “cute/charming” premise I suppose, but the room was certainly disappointing given the price tag. During check in, staff also tried to convince us to upgrade to a better room. Maybe it’s our room, but reminded me of my college dorm"

"The hotel is beautiful. It's an old vineyard, tastefully converted. It has an incredible variety of plants and flowers, and some rooms overlook the vines. The rooms are decorated in a very pretty country style. It has a large plunge pool. Everything is very good, except for breakfast. Incredibly bureaucratic, including the submission of a form the night before. It takes forever to deliver it, with countless mistakes. And the breakfast itself isn't great. It's a shame that the breakfast aspect spoils what could have been a lovely experience."

"We had a lovely stay at Villa Marie in August. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing retreat, conveniently located between Saint-Tropez town & the beach clubs, then this is the perfect stay. The staff were all lovely, and the concierge merits a special mention, having been extremely helpful in securing us last minute bookings for dinners & beach clubs. The breakfast spread was fantastic, lots of choice with high quality, fresh & seasonal items as well as a la carte. We mostly ate out but the one lunch we did have by the pool was great. Would 100% recommend and hope to return next year."

"I am very disappointed by the way this hotel management handled this situation. I noticed after the second day bug bites on me and after the second night I had more so I went to a pharmacy in St Tropez, and I was told they were bed bug bites. I contacted the hotel and they denied it. I told them I would not stay there the last night and asked that they refund me and wash my clothes. They did not refund me and when I contacted my credit card company they closed my claim."

"Incredible environment with renovated paddle and tennis courts. The staff and treatment are very friendly, it is like being at home. The Mediterranean cuisine by the pool is excellent, with fresh products of the day. We rented two houses and the truth is that for 15 days we hardly wanted to leave the hotel. Looking forward to returning again next summer."
