However, we were disappointed to discover that the heated pool was actually heated to an inadequate temperature, which meant we didn't get into the pool at all - we expected more than that."

"This b&b has everything. The location is perfect for visiting the artists quarter and the old city. The suite where we stayed is a spacious unit with a living room, small kitchen, very comfortable bedroom and outdoor seating in a lovely courtyard. The unit is beautifully designed and decorated, quiet and very clean. The breakfast is excellent. Most appreciated are the hosts Joy and Evan who really seem to love running their b&b. Their recommendations for restaurants and tour guides were perfect because they listened to us and understood what we were looking for. They are able to achieve a perfect balance of warm and personal service with very professional hospitality."

"We had stayed at the Ruth in the days when it was managed by Rimonim. Now it is with Dan Hotels and we stayed for two nights in July. The lobby and public rooms seem very much upgraded and stylish. Buffet breakfast excellent and varied. Oranges to squeeze for fresh juice available one day for us but we were too early for them the next. We had one buffet dinner, which was of great quality (it is worth getting to the restaurant early) and had intended to do so the second night but the buffet restaurant was shut then. It would have been useful to have known that. The hotel has a new wine bar which is an atmospheric, grown-up spot, located in a converted cellar. Excellent and extensive selection of wines and a small menu of light bites. Very enjoyable. Rooms were very clean and the soft furnishings pristine but the door jambs and furniture were a little scuffed and tired. I guess these will be renewed in due course. We stayed in the Geffen rooms and had lovely views over the valley. Gardens are beautiful and there are plentiful seating areas in which to relax. We didn’t use the pool this time."
