"Maison Jeroboam is a wonderful authentic place to form a base whilst exploring this region. Fantastic rooms and facilities with such a relaxing atmosphere made our stay magical. An educational visit to the most wonderful Chateau Phelan Segur is well worth a visit. We will look forward to a return trip back to France and although we like to stay in different places we will return here."

"Such a beautiful property. Wonderful food. And AMAZING, personal service. Nothing is impossible for this team, Hugo, the proprietor/manager, makes you feel like it is your home. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and wonderful, Very warm, comfortable and relaxed. Not stuffy at all. Great food. Gorgeous breakfast including freshly baked French pastries. Beautiful dinners -- take your choice fancy or relaxed. And of course an AMAZING wine list. So close to the amazing wineries of St Estephe. The hotel offered E-bikes to tour the wineries and the gorgeous countryside. A beautiful, modern, well appointed gym. A gorgeous pool. Stylish modern rooms with sumptuous linens and stunning French decor. I cannot recommend this highly enough if you are in Bordeaux for food and wine."

"As I look back on our recently concluded 15-day trip to France, I realize that perhaps THE highlight was our stay at Chateau Papounan. It wasn’t the breakfasts, though they were terrific. Nor was it our room, which was more than adequate. It was our hosts, Sylvaine & Jacques Leisy. They were so welcoming, so helpful, and so generous (sharing a bottle of wine with them in their garden, with their two big dogs, will stay in my memory always). Had it been up to me, I’d have stayed longer to further engage with two folks I can only deem the ultimate hosts."
