"The meals were delicious kaiseki cuisine. Mount Chokai was visible from the room. Rooms on the opposite side offer a panoramic view of the town. The open-air bath wasn't lit at night, but during the day it was beautiful and the temperature was just right. On both the first and second days, I had pleasant conversations with mountain climbers. Above all, the atmosphere of the large hall was wonderful. I spent my time sitting and reading a novel, while others were relaxing with music playing. The weather was bad during my stay so I couldn't observe the stars, but I heard that Saturn is visible on clear days. The room was also perfect, and I was very satisfied!"

"Although it is far from the station, public transportation stops in the evening, and it is not close enough to take a taxi, so I walked about 20 minutes. It's not a problem if you don't have luggage, but it may be a bit difficult if you have a lot of luggage. There is no convenience store between the station and the hotel. There is a supermarket that is open until 9pm very close by. The view from the high floor was very nice."

"Small, family-run hotel right by the train station. Reasonable facilities for the price. You make your own bed, towels and nightgowns can be rented for 100 yen each. Tea is free day and night. The area and the hotel are quiet, although as far as I can see it is fully booked. You can have breakfast in the café on the ground floor, very cozy with a funny owner. All in all, a nice stay."

"The hotel is in a good location. You can go to any attraction by walk. There is a dedicated parking lot near the hotel. The waiter was very attentive in explaining to us how to drive to and use the parking lot. The hotel lobby is beautifully designed. The breakfast is of good quality, rich and delicious."

"I walked to the hotel from Sakata Station. The hotel was clean, and I was satisfied with the large public bath. I think the breakfast was also wonderful. It was a little over 30 minutes' walk through the snow from Sakata Station. There are Yoshinoya and Kourakuen restaurants near the hotel. Then I walked to Kantaro. Across the street is Hama Sushi. None of the places seem to be promoting Sakata. I had trouble ordering at Kantaro. It was my first time in Sakata. It was disappointing."

"This spot overlooks the Sankyo Warehouses, a popular tourist destination, across the river. It's a little less than a 10-minute walk to the area with many restaurants, but it's convenient for sightseeing. It's a bit far from the station, so you'll need a bus or taxi. It's one of the locations where Sakata City offers free bicycle rentals, which was very helpful."

"The container house is new and clean. It's a nice place where you can feel the sea breeze. Being able to park your car right next to it is a plus. It might be cold in winter, though. I booked it because I couldn't get a hotel, but it was clean, in a good location, and perfectly fine for just sleeping. The shared showers and toilets are also clean."

"It was clean, but because it's old, the drain smell was a bit noticeable. There's no elevator, so it might be difficult for people with mobility issues. Bath towels and pajamas cost 100 yen each. They were provided free of charge this time. I didn't experience any particular inconvenience during my stay, and I think it's good value for money. The toast at the coffee shop on the first floor was delicious!"
