Premier Inn Isle of Wight, Sandown (Seafront) ★★★
"Location was fantastic hotel room clean and spacious no free parking so pick somewhere else if you need this. Bathroom very clean good shower and comfortable bed. Hotel staff very friendly. Then we went for breakfast which in one word was appalling ran out of food no milk no clean spoons plates no bacon no sausage no mushrooms no yogurts no pancakes and even ran out of milk at one stage would not ever have breakfast here again would eat somewhere else as this spoilt our experience we had to ask for a refund which loads of people did sadly this is whats letting this lovely hotel down !!"
Trouville Hotel by Compass Hospitality ★★★
"I have never known such a comfortable, friendly and homely hotel in the UK. The one thing that I found disgusting was the way a handful of guests talked down to the staff and treated them with contempt. Let me tell you, the staff are possibly the friendliest I've ever met and I've stayed in many hotels with my job! The bar staff are chatty and can't do enough for you. The reception team have something rare in hotels, a sense of humour. And the poor lady leading the restaurant? I've no idea how she puts up with the rudeness we encountered. Sandown may be run down but the hotel definately isn't. Can't wait to go back!!!"
Premier Inn Isle Of Wight Sandown ★★★
"Location good Atmosphere very good Rooms very good Value excellent Very good Very good Very good Very good Very good Excellent!"
Chaston Manor Hotel ★★★★
"Roger and Sandra are warm and welcoming people, made us feel like friends. We upgraded to the super king room, it was light and airy, the bed was very comfortable, many extras, robes (to hot to use them though) slippers, safe, shoe buff, little sewing kit. Full length mirror in the room. Breakfast, well the choices are huge, pre order night before, fresh fruit salad was very good as was the cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend and if we return to the isle of wight I am sure we would stay there again."
The Caledonian Island Hotel ★★★
"very good and featured publc area, and the room is very spacious, the carpet and the curtain, but really worth the money."
Parterre Holiday Apartments ★★★★
"Fantastic stay! We travelled from Birmingham with a baby under 2 and the host was absolutely brilliant — greeted us personally and kindly allowed an early check-in which made such a difference with a little one. The apartment is spotless, well equipped and perfectly located — just a short walk from Sandown Beach. Will definitely be back! Highly recommended! 🏝️"
Friends Hotel ★★
"I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place was truly awful. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the bathroom was in a shocking state — broken, dirty showers, a leaking toilet, and no basic essentials like toilet paper or soap. My bedroom was disgusting, filled with rubbish and belongings clearly left behind by previous guests. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. To top it off, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and bossy. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere — this place is not worth your time or money."
The Wight ★★★★
"Clean, hygienic and good service"
Altavia Hotel ★★
"I am genuinely stunned that this hotel is still operating in its current state. The owner, who claims to have been running the place for 30 years, is clearly stuck in the past, extremely rude, and completely unwilling to take feedback. For the sake of guests — especially children — it’s time to retire. My daughter stayed here on a school trip and the experience was unacceptable from start to finish. The children were not shown how to use the showers, meaning many had to wash in cold water. That is basic hospitality. Instead of helping, the owner chose to shout at the kids and even the teachers. Completely unprofessional behaviour. The rooms were tired, poorly maintained, and not cleaned daily. The entire hotel smelled unpleasant, and the hygiene standards were some of the worst I’ve come across. Maintenance is clearly neglected. The food situation was even more alarming. Some items were undercooked, others burnt, and the dishes were dirty. Chips were raw in the middle, toast was black, and shockingly, a nail and hair were found in a sandwich. This alone should prompt a visit from the local food inspection authorities. Beds and pillows were awful, offering no comfort at all. Overall, the facilities were extremely poor and nowhere near acceptable for paying guests — let alone children on a school trip. Be warned: stay far away from this hotel. And to the owner — do the right thing and retire. The standards here are not just outdated; they are unsafe."
