"Went to Kijani for supper recently. Great spot on the sea although the restaurant doesn't make much of this as the restaurant is at the back with no view of the sea. Nice, helpful staff but we had to wait too long for the food (at least 45 mins and restaurant not full); food was fine, nothing special but fine."

"Peponi is a fantastic spot. We recently spent 3 nights there. The location is fantastic, The rooms very comfortable, the staff are outstanding & the food was exceptional. The owner works hard at making guests feel comfortable. It is easy to organise outings from the hotel on a dhow boat to Lamu, for a sunset cruise, to the old ruins or to Manda for lunch. We had a wonderful relaxing & interesting stay."

"The room was a 5 star accommodation. There were three of us, the floor was divided into two sections, the master bedroom was off in a down stairs with a queen bed and mosquito netting resembling a princess suite, off from the bed was a veranda that over looked the bay. There were the view was a scenic fishing village, absolutely stunning! The upper room was divided by a foyer the looked out over the pool and beautiful crafted landscape. The bathroom was something out of a spa where the shower did not require a curtain or separate entrance. The upper room was spacious with windows all around. With a gentle bellowing breeze. Restaurant was quaint and served the most delicious food. The waiter recommended our meals each night and we were never disappointed. Absolutely delicious food and service."

"I went on a solo trip to celebrate my birthday. I really enjoyed my stay. The stuff in the entire hotel were super friendly, very respectful and ready to give assistance.Also, I really enjoyed food at the Umi restaurant… I frequently went there and was served by a waiter called Martin. He was very welcoming and warm. He made my stay much fun, plus he is very helpful in giving nice food suggestions.. I loved it all. I have no complaints about anything. I had so much fun. I’ll definitely go back to Majlis."

"The most peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable break I've had at the Kenyan Coast. The food was stunning, some of the best in Kenya let alone Lamu.
