"This is one of the friendliest places I’ve ever been to. The staff could not have done enough for us. The food was lovely. My 3 year old grandson wasn’t feeling very well and didn’t want his dinner so they asked if he’d like some ice cream instead which made him very happy and soothed his sore throat and no charge for it. They also provided a container so we could take his dinner home for later. Would definitely recommend."

"Another enjoyable evening meal at the Lorna Doone restaurant. I now always make sure to pre-book to avoid disappointment; it's easy enough to do. Staff are always welcoming and helpful and the little dining room is very cosy. This time I had a glass of delicious Merlot with the Cajun chicken, which was tasty and just at the perfect side of spicy for me. Previously I enjoyed the Lamb Three Ways and the slow cooked beef ribs. I didn't intend to have pudding, but opted again for the rhubarb & ginger affair... My companions also love the Lamb, but this time had the Saltimbocca, which they really enjoyed."

"My husband and I visited Lynton on a whim whilst on holiday in north Devon and stumbled across The Crown looking for lunch. What a gem to find. We were welcomed in and had the bar menu and special board explained, it wasn’t extensive therefore not overwhelming but had enough choices for lunch. We ordered Ham sandwich from the specials board and my husband ordered pizza and fries. The food was amazing; we ended up sharing the dishes between us because it was all so tasty."

"Great food good service and friendly staff. I only stayed 1 night on a tour of Devon and Somerset. Creaky floor and bed but it just gave more atmosphere. Would have given 5* but bathroom ceiling needs attention and repainting. Also generator going meant a bit of noise. Under £100.00 for room 3 course dinner & breakfast."
