"We celebrated our Golden Wedding anniversary weekend with our children and grandchildren in the "atmospheric" Festung Rosenberg, with beautiful views over Kronach and had a wonderful, memorable time thanks to the very helpful and friendly staff. Have to especially mention Frau Herzog and Herr Thompson here who went out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable, despite their shortage of staff generally. The buffet food was delicious and plentiful and we were even able to order a special cake for the occasion. The children's tour of the castle was very interesting, and to be recommended. Very good value for money. The grandsons (aged 7 to 11) loved their bunk beds and bed "up in the roof", the play area inside (perhaps renew and add a few more toys e.g. Lego) and equipment outside - in the castle's former moat I believe. They are "into" castles and knights at the moment - so all very appropriate. An outdoor seating area "under cover" would have been welcome during the warm but showery weather. All in all an unforgetable and very happy family hotel location."
