"The motel is a budget option, and for the price it does what it is supposed to do. If you are simply looking for a cheap place to sleep for the night, it serves its purpose. The room was basic but functional, and overall it matched what you would expect at this price point. However, one of the furniture in the room was broken and should simply be removed. Leaving broken furniture in the room is a matter of improper maintenance."

Quality Inn Hotels in Timiskaming District

Quality Inn

"When I booked this hotel, I expected renovated building. The pictured were showing nice renovated lobby and very nice breakfast room. The pictures of the room were showing mostly beds, so you cannot really say how the rooms looked. I stayed before in other freshly renovated Quality inn that was really great, so I expected something like this. The 1st surprise was when we drove to the entrance. It turned out to be a motel with the doors outside. Only entrance looked nice, the rest of the building looked very old. When we got into the room there was the second surprise. The room looked as 50 years old. The oldest AC unit was stuck into the wall and the holes between the unit and the wall were stuck with foam pieces, paper towel and there was also some small holes left through which you can see the street. We were lucky that it was cool enough and we didn’t have to use it as I am afraid to think what noise this ancient thing can produce. The floor in the room was uneven. The fridge and TV stand were tilted. When I was lying on the bed and my husband walked between bed and TV stand, I could feel the bed shaking. The matrass is very hard. The vent in the bathroom made such a noise, that I was afraid it will fell from the ceiling. But the worst was the noise from the highway. The motel is very close to the road and the windows don’t stop any noise at all. Every time when the big truck went by we could fill the vibration. I don’t know, how management keeps running this motel in this condition and charging a lot for the stay there. Pictures are misleading, while the lobby and breakfast room are renovated, that is the only area where renovation was done in the building and the rest of it requires a lot of improvement. The only good thing was the breakfast. Don’t stay there. It doesn’t cost the money you will be charged for it."

Leisure Inn ★★★
"It is interesting to see that the reviews have become very negative since the motel was sold. We have stayed at the Leisure Inn many times in the past but will never go back! The beds are very lumpy and noisy. The sheets don’t fit properly and I ended up wrapped in the bottom sheet which didn’t fit the mattress (bumpy foam pad over an unknown base). Pillows are flat. The towels are dark brown and two were covered with hair. The toilet paper is incredibly thin one-ply. It disintegrates during use! The one wrapped soap at the sink is very tiny. However, there is a dispenser in the bathtub with soap, shampoo and conditioner. The sink is outside the bathroom. There is a small microwave and a bar fridge. No coffee machine. No Kleenex. The curtains barely cover the window. Because it is an older building, there aren’t many electrical outlets to use for recharging devices, etc. The owner seemed friendly when we checked in, but became irate when we requested something. We did not stay for breakfast so I can’t comment on that. We paid a little less for the room than the higher-rated places were asking, but about $200 after tax for one night was rather steep for what we got. In short, beware."

Bay Lake Inn - Frontiersman Motel ★★
"This place is frozen in time. The hot water worked and there was a good amount of pressure! That's the only good part. Dated, very musty, dingy, poorly lit. Loud, poor privacy. Might as well have slept in the car...noise level and comfort would have been the same. "
