Woolpack Hotel Tumut
8.4 (15 reviews)

Woolpack Hotel Tumut ★★

📍 36 Wynyard St, Tumut

"Good enough pub room for the price. Convenient location. Clean and tidy. Smelt a bit musty. Paint peeling on the walls. Beds clean and comfy. Shared shower block clean and good water pressure. But lots of lights out in the shower/toilet area. Make sure you bring ear plugs if you sleep before the pub band downstairs has finished."

"We stayed a couple weeks ago in one of the rooms here at the Oriental Hotel and we were very impressed with how spacious the rooms were. Elm Cottage Tumut Hotels in Tumut

Elm Cottage Tumut

"Stayed here for a much needed quiet Xmas break with family of 4. Location is simply stunning. Views from every cottage are breathtaking. We barely saw anyone the entire time however owner Dave was very welcoming and made sure we knew where he was if we needed anything. They even provided us with some river tubes which was a great way to cool down. Cottage had all things needed for a self catering holiday however I would recommend you bring your own tea and coffee. Air conditioning kept us cool and beds were very comfortable. Full sized oven meant we were able to cater for a special Xmas lunch. The teenagers loved the river and we enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife including wombats, kangaroos, rabbits, kookaburras and the farm animals were also a hit with the kids. If you are looking for a quiet place to truely unwind and get away from it all then this is the place for you."

Tumut Apartments

"Tumut Apartments is a little gem in the heart of Tumut. Great apartments, very stylish and comfortable. Fantastic value for money, exceptionally clean and very quiet. The amenities were great and the bed was very comfortable. The location was fantastic, in the heart of the city centre, close to all facilities. Easy walk into town. The service was awesome, great communication and easy booking procedure. We called for a last minute accommodation and was able to get a room. Fantastic value for money. We would definitely return to Tumut and stay at Tumut Apartments, a very pretty town and would highly recommend staying at Tumut Apartments, you won't regret it. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

"We had the special ginger soy salmon which was the best pub meal we’ve had anywhere in Aus or overseas. Our friends had the veal schnitzel and banger and mash which were both also excellent. Definitely recommend coming here when you’re visiting Tumut!"

Oriental Hotel ★★★
"The first things we noticed about our room at the Oriental Hotel were the earplugs on the bath-towels on the bed (where in other hotels you might get a cake of soap). All a bit alarming, and is was very noisy from say 5 to 6pm with lots of logging trucks rumbling past in the street outside. But after that it was quiet - we had no need for the earplugs at all. Overall, we thought the hotel very good, though were disappointed with the wifi reception in our room (it was better in the bar downstairs). We had seen reviews that commented on the excellent wifi that sold us on the place but when we got there it was a different story, with the woman who checked us in saying it could be 'hit and miss'. It was more miss than hit on our visit. On the plus side, the room was relatively spacious for an older style hotel, the bed comfortable and the shared bathrooms spotlessly clean. The tariff was reasonable and, downstairs in the pub, there is an excellent, highly rated restaurant (another reason we stayed here) and a pleasant bar area. The wide balcony outside the room was also excellent, but definitely not between 5 and 6pm for the reasons stated before."

Harriet House Tumut ★★★
"Located very close to shops and facilities in the middle of town. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Shower temperature was great and water pressure also great. Wifi was very poor. We had to organize our own alternative wifi facility so this was a big turn off. It was a pity because everything else was great."
