"I have never written a review in my life but here it is... So other guest are aware Unfortunately, this was not the bed and breakfast experience that was advertised. At check-in, we were warmly shown around the property and invited to enjoy the beautiful communal facilities, including the terraces, garden, pool area and indoor sitting areas. The only restriction explained to us—and the only one published online—was that the pool closed at 7:00 p.m. That evening, however, our experience was completely different. We were quietly sitting on one of the terraces that had been presented to us as a communal guest area. No one else was using it. One of the owner's daughters came outside and told us we could not sit there because it was reserved for the family, instructing us to move elsewhere. Her approach genuinely stunned us. From the moment we arrived, she came across as very unwelcoming, and throughout our stay every interaction with her felt abrupt, dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational. Rather than making us feel welcome as paying guests, we were left feeling as though we were inconveniencing the family simply by being there. We were not swimming, playing music or being disruptive. Belgium was experiencing a record-breaking heatwave, our room was unbearably hot, and we were simply trying to sit outside in the cooler evening air. In June it stays light until around 10:00 p.m., yet we were made to feel there was nowhere outside we were welcome to sit. To make matters more confusing, we were then told the internal doors through the house would be closed for "family time," So they locked all doors to the main "communal space" meaning we had to walk around the outside of the property to access our room. The following morning, the very same terrace we had been told we could not sit there was where breakfast was served for us. Throughout our stay, it felt as though we were tiptoeing around the owner's daughters and their families rather than being welcomed as paying guests. It honestly felt more like renting a room in a shared family home than staying at a traditional bed and breakfast. After our stay, the owners referred to these as "general house rules." However, I could not find anywhere on the website, in the booking information or in the pre-arrival emails stating that guests could not use the communal outdoor areas after 7:00 p.m., that guests could not eat outside, or that the advertised communal spaces could become private family areas during a guest's stay. None of these restrictions were explained to us at check-in. Had they been, we would have respected them. Had they been disclosed before booking, we simply would have chosen alternative accommodation. It seemed the daughter was making rules up on the spot to make her family more comfortable. I do want to acknowledge the staff member who prepared breakfast. She was genuinely warm, kind and welcoming, and was the highlight of our stay. If the family wishes to reserve the adve"
