"I love the OKKO HOTEL because of its wonderful lounge, but the Bayonne is on the top floor and offers a great view. Of course, they had everything from tea to cappuccino from PALAIS DES THES, so I was able to relax and unwind. I skipped breakfast because I was leaving early in the morning, but I highly recommend a hearty breakfast if you're staying here. The rooms are uniquely designed, typical of France."

"We have been staying here in the hotel attached to the restaurant. Had hoped for very good food, a little disappointed. Very good service I will say, but the food didn’t hit the spot. My foie gras had little taste, the veal medallions were just about pink, spelt risotto rather bland, mushroom sauce was good though. The real disappointment was the dessert, we payed a supplement for it too. Pear soufflé, basically sweetened egg white, with a measure of pear eau de vie to pour in, yes it gave pear flavour, but I’ve eaten many a soufflé, that tasted far better. I will say the madeleine served with it was very good. Maybe because the restaurant was very busy, the cooking suffered!"

"This is a nice flat site which had reasonable shade and most pitches spacious with hedge. Beach literally across the road. Good facilities with toilet paper, hot water and excellent wi-fi coverage. Water taps were hard to find and sprayed all over the place. Small on-site shop with bread in morning, a restaurant/bar, swimming pool and children's playing area. Did not try the restaurant/bar. Bus stop to St Jean within 10-15 mins walk of site ... get advice from reception re. location and timetable... short trip into town. It is possible to walk to St Jean over a pretty good path -- takes about 30-35 mins and has a slopely start but not very demanding. Not all staff have good English but always try to help. There are two fairly attractive pubs / restaurants just outside the site. At times late night music, laughing and shouting --- may not wake one up but might make it hard to get to sleep."
