Royal Beach ★★★
Golden Tulip Varna ★★★★
"Varna was having an unusually warm weekend on Oct 1-2. When we got into our room (Room 601), it was an oven. Although the fan was on and set to maximum (minimal draft and no cold air), the full blast of the afternoon sun heated up the two large windows that face the main road. We asked reception if the cold air could be turned on, and were told that the hotel policy was to cut off all airconditioning by Oct 1. While we understand that management policy is policy, we felt that the hotel staff should have been empowered to accommodate guest comfort given the vagaries of climate change. Having said that, the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a decent size, and soap, shampoo and shower gel were provided. The hotel staff were helpful when our friends misplaced their hotel key. The breakfast spread was decent."
Hotel Palitra ★★★
"The shower was badly damaged, only one of the electrical outlets worked, reception was 1.5 hours late, and the noise level in the evening was unpleasant even with the windows closed. It was okay for the price, but I wouldn't book here again. (Stay 4 days and 3 nights)"
Park Hotel Perla ★★★
"Currently here and it’s one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The food is awful and with 3 children from 14-7 we have eaten out most evenings. Chicken and pork is the constant on the menu, puddings are not even worth a taste. Staff are rude, hotel is dated. Sunbeds are plenty which is about the only plus. Pool bar isn’t included in the all inclusive. I would strongly suggest paying a bit extra and going and staying somewhere you can at least have a decent dining experience!"
Ibis Styles Golden Sands Roomer Hotel ★★★★
"An attractive shiny clean hotel with a very friendly and welcoming aura. The team who is working there is the most welcoming, warm and friendly! Very tasty breakfasts and dinners. Very close to the beach - 3 or 4 minutes walk. Comfy beds. Very good air-conditioner. Cousy balconies where you can spend some time with your friends..Highly recommended!"
Ventura Boutique Hotel ★★★
"I really liked it, the room was clean, cleaned every day, the room is dark, which can be an advantage or a disadvantage, breakfasts are good, you have to order what to take care of and the quantity, but for me it was sufficient, the service was very nice, helpful. The neighborhood is quiet, there are shops and bars, unfortunately in bars you pay in cash. The beach is close, you can get to the center by bus almost from the hotel about 20-30 minutes. To the airport about 50 minutes with 1 change in the center."
Primorski Hotel ★★★
"I don't understand the hotel's good reviews. The breakfast is a disaster and not sufficient. We've had the same four choices for three days now. The rooms are okay, but our mattress was defective, and I slept on springs. When I reported it, they just smiled. For the price, you can definitely get better deals in the area. The area is a nice walk to the sea, and the passage is also beautifully designed. But unfortunately, this isn't enough—once and never again."
Ensana Aquahouse ★★★★★
"The Ensana Aquahouse is three years old. It has numerous pools with varying temperatures, both indoors and in the garden outside. The Cactus Beach restaurant is located on the beach. The breakfast is fantastic, with Bulgarian and international specialties. The hotel seems to be primarily geared toward families with children. Accordingly, things can sometimes get a bit chaotic. The rooms are nice, modernly furnished, with a large TV. We had a room with a terrace. However, the bathroom resembles a studio kitchen. The toilet doesn't have a shower over the toilet. The toilet and shower doors are made of frosted glass."
International House of Journalists Resort ★★★
"The price-performance ratio is absolutely OK. Although the hotel has come somewhat into the years, the price is fit for it. The dinner was varied, with daily changed main dishes, even though the base remained similar. The breakfast was largely the same, but completely enough and overall good."

Apart Hotel Golden Line
"The hotel is a bit old but the food and the animtors were the best, especially Kati, Ilko and Chefo, they played the most entertaining games for kids and also for adults or teenagers, i also liked the bartenders, they were very friendly and fast. I will definitely come back!"
Hotel Amfora
"Very nice hotel, English speaking staff ! However toilet and shower same spot and very little for big ppl :D Overall 4,5/5 very pleased 😌"
International Hotel Casino & Tower Suites
"We had another wonderful stay at International Hotel in Varna. The rooms are large, spacious, spotlessly clean, and always smell amazing. The breakfast and dinner are excellent, with a wide variety of delicious, fresh, and high-quality food. The infinity pool offers a breathtaking view of the sea, making it the perfect place to relax. Everything about this hotel is simply superb. We come back every year, and it never disappoints. We highly recommend it!"
Hotel Lilia
"The recepcionist was very uninterested and unfriendly. We did not feel very welcome when we arrived. We are staying at the second floor and it smells bad in the hallway. The shower is broken, still usable though. Food is of poor quality. The fried fish was dry, the watermelons were warm, deserts are the same too sweet frosting with different packiging. Totally not what we expected of this hotel. One big bottle of water costs 4,6 EURO. That is crazy in my opinion."
Villa Chinka by Astor Garden Hotel - Adults Only
"Beautiful place with amazing staff and cool chilled atmosphere, the place has the right balance between chic and relaxed, the owners made amazing job by keeping the place familial and at the same time professional, they sent a cake for my partner’s birthday which was a nice and thoughtful, the food in all the restaurants is outstanding and the staff will do anything to make the customer happy, the restaurant next door more is also amazing and is a must try."
Astor Garden Hotel
"Luxurious hotel, large rooms with terrace and drying rack. Bathrooms with shower and bathtub and courtesy kit. Well-stocked minibar and safety box Exceptional spa with tecnogym gym, sauna and indoor swimming pool. The massages are a panacea, the professionalism, competence and courtesy of the staff seal everything. Conference center Free Wi-Fi restaurants with buffet breakfast, dinner and lunch both indoors and by the pool shopping gallery Outdoor swimming pools for adults and children Private beach. Structure that allows you to work and also regenerate during breaks. The structure is highly recommended"
The Palace Hotel, Sunny Day
"The service is terrible for a 5 star hotel. Only the maids were doing their jobs, although no matter what they did, the stench wafting from the bathroom pipes couldn't help but wake us up in the morning :X The air conditioners in all the rooms are set to work equally weakly and when a person walks down the corridor, he sees how people have opened their room doors because they are dying from the heat inside.. and this is a 5-star hotel! Paying BGN 500 (EUR 250) per night, we were accommodated in a room overlooking the park, where every morning at 06:30-07:00 they were sweeping the street in front of the hotel with some kind of machine that woke us up in the early hours of the morning, even though we had been assured by the reservations department that rooms with a park view are quieter than those with a sea view. The TV in the room restarted every 10 minutes by itself and the fan in the bathroom didn't work (when we asked the reception about this, we were 'reassured' that the fans in the bathrooms in the whole hotel didn't work, it wasn't just our room :@). After 3 nights in this terrible room, we moved to another one with a sea view. For this room we paid BGN 550 (EUR 275) per night and our last night at the hotel we couldn't sleep at all because there was some noise from the pipes in the bathroom - every 7-8 minutes there was a terrible banging in the the pipes from the room next to us. When we called reception to report this they didn't even bother to come to the room to check what was going on and we had to call them further and go down to the reception several times to inform us that there was nothing they could do and they didn't even offer to move us to another room.. the next day when we talked to the manager, he said that he could compensate us by treating us to 2 pizzas... and so, for a sleepless night that costs 550 BGN, they compensated us with 2 pizzas for 30 BGN... : And this is the first hotel we've stayed at where we had to pay for our nights in advance so they could be sure that whatever happens they've got their money.. otherwise they'd have a lot of denied payments for such cases like ours, but they know this very well.. No matter how much we talk, we still have a lot to learn from our southern neighbors in terms of hospitality and kindness, so our tourism will still be at the same dying level : In short - we would not set foot a second time in this badly-renovated hotel, which does not even deserve 3 stars."
Melia Grand Hermitage
"This was a lovely hotel with friendly staff and good food. We have just returned from ten days here. The animation team were good fun and never missed an opportunity for a chat. The room was big and spacious with the best views! We did think that housekeeping of the room was not very good. I think the only thing I actually did in the 10 days we were there was change the towels every day, the beds maybe twice I don’t take the bins. The 2 cups and two glasses were never changed. One day we had to cool down to reception for toilet paper – has now had been left! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff we dealt with. The grounds and facilities were very good. The beach facilities were good too. The only downside for us was if you went down to the promenade for a walk after dinner in the evening there was nothing. A few supermarkets overpriced shoe shops and a lot of cheap rubbish gift shops. The locals didn’t seem keen on you being there and could appear stern faced and often rude."
Hotel Slavey - All Inclusive
"Amazing experience ! The fun-team really contributed to it, i always had activities to do and never got bored, interacting with the animators was really fun for me, even outside activities they were really friendly and made me feel like i made new friends. (honorable mention for Koko and Ico)."
Havana Hotel - All Inclusive
"It is horror , First Mai rude, to our words turns and accuses us , that is not taking the situation . Far from the sea basin is cold , food is uniform. Intere no tv does not work too in the wifi room does not catch the Hotel is not worth your attention"
Arena Mar Hotel and Spa
"We stayed here at the end of September for 5 nights. The hotel was quiet due to it being the end of their season which meant a lot of the local shops, bars and restaurants has closed (no fault of the hotel, we didn’t do our research and assumed the season would continue into October - something to be mindful of if you’re booking in 2024). The food and spa were the highlights of our holiday. The spa staff were super friendly and helpful and we made sure to make use of the facilities and treatments on offer. Would recommend the Turkish bath, it was incredible! The price of the treatments were so cheap compared to the U.K. you can pay cash or card which is handy too. The food was so flavoursome and we had something different each night. If you’re a fussy eater or expecting 20+ difference choices this isn’t the place for you. There was enough choices but each dish was delicious and the cakes were little mouthfuls of heaven. Overall the hotel was very modern and clean and is in a great location to walk to the beach. Even with it being quiet we felt extremely safe strolling around. Down by the beachfront there are some lovely shops and bars, it’s a lovely easy stroll. We took the 409 bus into Varna (approx 45 mins journey) and hired electric scooters to explore. We’d recommend wandering the garden, it’s beautiful and lots for kids to do. The staff were generally very helpful, a big shout out to Vanka (I hope that’s how you spell it) on reception who was extremely helpful in trying to sort an issue with our transfer back to the airport. Only negative experienced were the cleaners were slightly rude and staff weren’t always at the bar around the pool, we imagine this was down to it being out of season. We would definitely return to the hotel and make the most of the spa and facilities again next year. "
Hotel Excelsior - All Inclusive
"It was good overall, apart from the fact that elevators at some point were not working which was making it hard and 2 days in a row cleaning stuff forgot to put shower gel. Animation stuff was brilliant."
Azalia Beach Hotel Balneo & Spa
"One of our best family holiday. Close to the airport, close to bus to the Varna city center and also to Zlate pisky. Yet, the location is much calmer and with relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is just on the beach with enough sunbeds for everyone. The pool with two water slides is big enough and just next to the beach bar with all-day drinks and snacks. Our room was located on 2nd floor, so no elevator issues. For a family of 4, the room size is sufficient. I liked the comfy beds and sea view with fresh air and therefore no need for a/c (btw every room has a view of the sea). The best part is the cuisine. Very good choice of meals, salads, fruit and desserts. Not at all the same every day as was mentioned here previously. I really recommend this hotel."
Prestige Deluxe Hotel Aquapark Club - All Inclusive
"Everything about this hotel was great. Food good, price great, plenty for kids to do. Not many English people there but we prefer it that way anyway. Not really one for making friends. Had a full chilled time "
Prestige Hotel and Aquapark - All Inclusive
"I went to prestige aquapark which is terrible in terms of safty, infrastructure, and hygiene. Very disappointing experience. The tiles around the pool are extremely slippery and dirty, which makes the area unsafe. The anti-slip mat leading to the water slides is filthy and missing in many places. In the bathrooms, only two faucets were working and there was very little water. The toilet doors do not close properly, and the showers do not work at all. The chairs near the pool bar are also very dirty. On top of that, the security staff is rarely visible and does not seem to monitor or control anything. Overall, the hygiene, maintenance, and safety standards need serious improvement."
Marina Grand Beach Hotel - All Inclusive Plus
"I do not recommend for the very bad menu, a kind of cafeteria. Very dirty restaurant and terraces. Only the cleaning lady on the 7th floor who was kind and the cleanliness in the room can get 4 stars. I've had diarrhea since one in the afternoon."
