"The location, setting and environment is first class. Food was excellent, locally sourced and well cooked. The service was very very poor, hopefully because we have not yet hit Easter and a warm weekend may have just found the hotel, bar and restaurant understaffed."

"Great parking easy to find. Friendly and made you feel at home. Spacious room and bsthroom comfy bed. All clean and tidy. Staff excellent helpful friendly polite nothing too much trouble. All amenities that you needed. Food above excellent. Five stars does not seem high enough to give to this country pub"

"Lovely setting, but lacking in places, believe its a good hotel for dogs though. The check-in was ok, although we had a confirmed table reservation for 7.45 receptionist kept saying they only had one space at 7 which after travelling all day and not arriving until late was too much of a rush, he did in.the end agree to the later reservation, our room was lovely had been upgraded the bathroom and the bath was fabulous, plenty of hot water but no bath robe bit of a let down, the bar was lovely but the majority of the sofas were uncomfortable and the fires should have been lit. Evening meal was ok but breakfast was huge hot and served well. Would stop for a coffee but probably wouldn't stay over again"
