Aloe Again ★★★
"It's a great venue. The bed was great. The pillows were great. The service was great. When an issue arose like the geyser thermostat broke, the communication was excellent and the thing was fixed fast. All in all, the hospitality was professional the place was clean and the cleaning staff were very efficient and friendly. We have no complaints."

African Perfection 1
"I wasn’t sure what to expect for my short trip to J-Bay beyond great views of the ocean. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality, and idyllic setting of African Perfection. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time there!"
Canal Guest House - Waterfront Boutique B&B

Surf Lodge South Africa

Misty Mountain Reserve
"pods are a great concept location stunning with great view. Attention to detail in the pods with regards to service and utilities is poor. Plastic wine and water glasses not commensurate to the price. We opted for a self service braai basket only to discover that there were no utensils or crockery when it came to braying and eating."
Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve
"This place is really terrible. Do not come here. I timed how long it took them to bring our dinner tonight. And it took one hour and a quarter. You cannot order side dishes. The food will not fill you up. There is no ability to choose the type of meal you want and it’s unbelievably slow. We had to leave in the end before our desert came. I don’t know what they’re doing in the kitchen, or what the waitresses are doing, but they’re definitely not trying to make this a five star hotel. The service is like one star. Nothing in the room works. We paid top dollar for the private 3 bed house. Of course, none of the TVs work, there is no cutlery in any of the drawers in the kitchen. It’s all formover function. You can’t get to the beach on foot. It’s a 10 min drive followed by a 15 min walk. The pool is tiny. The beer in the fridges is not cold. Everyone here is fast asleep. Save your money. Stay at home."
Hitgeheim Country Lodge
"We stayed 2 nights in a superior de luxe room. The rooms are spacious, with comfy beds, chairs and huge bathroom. We also had our own pool and outside shower. The room had great views over the valley and river. Beds turned down each evening and free sherry. Breakfast is self serve cols and hit dishes to order. We booked dinner on both nights - 4 courses, choices are made after breakfast. We also went on the Addo game drive, which sets of at 8 am. It's a 25km drive to the park in a god truck. Your driver is your guide ( take your drink and poss a jacket on cooler days) . Lunch is provided by the hotel which was very filling. The road to the hotel is unmade so be wary if in a hire car, also lots of road works in the area so allow extra time. "
Kwantu Private Game Reserve
"Fantastic experience. Top-notch service. Delicious meals. Highly recommended. LOCATION: Just over an hour's drive from PE. Last 10km on a poor quality gravel road (especially during wet weather). Hotel offers private transfers at an exorbitant price. APPEARANCE: Great. Luxurious, yet fitting of the outdoor experience. Better quality finishing than many of it's competitors. ROOM (Stayed in a Superior Family Room at Pollards Inn): Decor: Quality on par with a 5-star city hotel despite being surrounded by nature. 2 Double beds. Sleeper couch. Large desk/work area. Lovely tranquil patio with a beautiful view. Size: Huge spacious room plus patio. Interleading options available as well. Decently sized bathroom. Amenities: Meets expectations. Bar fridge/snacks included. Full Dstv bouquet. Quality of sleep. Excellent. Comfortable beds. SERVICE: As good as I've experienced. From arrival to departure everyone was fantastic. Knowledgeable game drive and predator park guides. Those little extra touches did not go unnoticed - like washing your car prior to departure or gifting Kwantu caps to the kids playing outside. DINING: Excellent. Fully Halaal. All-inclusive. Decent variety. Excellent quality. Great staff. One of the highlights of the trip. ACTIVITIES/FACILITIES: Trip was unfortunately marred by wet weather so were unable to fully experience everything on offer. Personalised itinerary. Enjoyable game drives with close big 5 encounters. Predator park. Petting zoo. Lots of outdoor facilities. Clean well maintained Muslim prayer facility. The kids' play area could do with some improvement. MY BOOKING AGENT: Hotel website ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Despite being a group of 10, transfers are quoted on the website on a per person basis which would have amounted to a similar price to our flights from Johannesburg. Due to our early evening arrival and hesitancy to tackle the roadtrip on unfamiliar terrain in the dark, the hotel lost out on our party booking an extra night's accommodation as we chose to spend the night in PE and drive through the next day in 2 rental cars which costs significantly cheaper than Kwantu's own transfers. My feeling is that if you are located in an isolated location, accessibility/transfer options for guests making multi-room bookings for a few nights need to be more attractive. Will I recommend/stay there again? Yes definitely. "
Bukela Game Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve
"Really enjoyed our 3 nt stay. Accommodation A1 . Food, plentiful but not of the highest quality. The Safari , A1, huge mention for Abi great guide. Wales were unlucky."
The Boat Shed by the Oyster Collection
The Willow Historical Guest House
"Luckily enough they had had a bed for me when I called in the morning. As usual, a 5 star plus experience. I have stayed there a few times and the standard has never slipped. Accommodation, food, surroundings are all wonderful. Service is beyond the call of duty, I left my mobile phone there and they couriered it back home for me. Highly recommended!"
Aan Die Oewer Guest House
"Very easy to find location and communicate with very friendly householder The apartment is cosy but slightly ascetic (no fully isolated bathroom from main room) Beautiful orchard and view around site Gorgeous ancient city in Dutch style with delicious meals in restaurants and awesome local paleontology museum"
The Lookout Guest House
"Spacious & comfortable accommodation with an amazing view. A generous breakfast delivered to the table in your space - very convenient. A few requests easily & seamlessly accommodated because Angela is a gracious host who understands what hospitality means. Highly recommended."
Hlosi Game Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve
"We had an amazing experience at Hlosi. The whole team are wonderful and looked after us very well. Would highly recommend 10/10."
Pumba Private Game Reserve
"The dirt gravel road from Makhanda, that our navigator poonted is to, was very bumpy n muddy and we could've been stuck without assistance from Pumba as another guest experienced a day b4 us. Pumba can do better communicating on avoidance of this dirt road. "
Cape St Francis Resort
"Staff wear smiles all the time. Food is amazing and generous proportions. Access to the beach easy. And An easy walk to the Light House. Accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped. Great little shop And you can have your clothes lauded laundered. "
Dune Ridge Country House
"Everything at Dune Ridge was superb. A beautiful, peaceful place with amazing staff. Will definitely come back."
