Lots of good eateries, clothing, shoes and titbits. 10 mins away from Xiamen railway station so very convenient. Rooms are very large and spacious. Very clean too. The hotel interior could do with an update but it’s ok otherwise. Breakfast is simple. Has the necessary stations but service is rather slow. Friendly though. Staff not all can speak English. Overall, still happy to stay here and would definitely come back again if I’m in Xiamen.

This hotel is very close to the city centre walking street so there are hundreds of food and drink options. we even ordered thru app take outs from several nearby restaurants delivered to the hotel and brought up by the hotel staff! The level of service is beyond this world. Our room is facing the Gulangyu island and the harbour so the views are stunning from morning to night. One should note though that the Gulangyu ferry terminal is not directly opposite the hotel but a short taxi ride away.

When planning our trip to Gulangyu I had a clear objective in mind, I wanted to stay at Lee Manor. So we splurged a little and book at this very charming hotel built in 1920. Service is obviously top notch and we appreciated the little details like the pick up at the ferry with a bottle of refreshing tea, the suggestions for our dinner spot, the complimentary (and gorgeous) afternoon tea. I was impressed by the facilities, the building itself is gorgeous and all the decor elements are beautiful and well thought. Not being able to go back home in Europe for more then 15 months, this place reminded us Italy and it was a a soothing feeling for us both. A full Chinese breakfast is included in the price and there is an option of bread for Westerners. For that price I would have expected (and enjoyed) a cup of coffee but unfortunately I was told that the coffee machine was broken. The hotel is superbly located and the rooms are very comfortable with all the amenities. Our room was on the second floor, in the old building. The poor sound insulation could be a problem though for light sleepers (or if your neighbors are noisy). I could clearly hear the conversation the couple had in the room next door so I would suggest bringing earplugs for a better sleep. We loved our stay on the island and at Lee Manor! Thank you very much for the hospitality!

The cleaner who upkeeps my room during my stay is very caring. She left a note in Chinese but I can’t read. I got my friend to read and it says weather is hot and she have boiled water for us and asked us to drink more water to stay hydrated. I would like to say thank you and is very much appreciated.
